What does retirement look like for a Riding Centre horse?

It looks like this.

It looks like Leo, who spent years carrying little riders and teaching them about horses, now spending his days in Malmesbury with his donkey friends ❤️

And it looks like Ohana and Flower, who will soon leave us for a beautiful farm where they can spend their days grazing, wandering, making friends and enjoying the slower pace they’ve earned.

For Flower, there’s an especially big piece of our history leaving with her.

So many children took their very first pony ride on Flower. She has carried nervous little beginners, excited birthday-party guests and generations of children who will probably never forget the feeling of sitting on a pony for the very first time.

She may not know how many childhood memories she has been part of. But we do.

And that’s the beautiful thing about retiring a Riding Centre horse, retirement isn’t the end of their story. It’s the beginning of a new chapter
