Danica Etheridge and Octavia QS had a good day at SA champs with the fastest clear round in the jump-off and 2nd for the Gauteng team overall. Unfortunately they knocked 2 poles in the first round but qualified for the jump-off as part of the team. Great outcome in the end none the less. Lovely ride!

SA Champs day 2- 14th out of a class 68 for Octavia QS and Danica Etheridge. They will participate as Gauteng team members on Sunday in the Championship class. Wishing them the very best!

Some moments captured at the recent 5th Avenue Dressage Show of our Lusitano X WB horses. Interestingly all 3 of the crosses are out of Ghemo's ZBD but with different Lusitano sires. The grey mares are Jakiera QS and Pandora QS. Both mares have bred lovely foals and are now entering the dressage arena produced by Roxy Liechti. Neptune QS, the striking dark bay Lusi cross gelding, and I had our first outing in Prelim. Luan Forrester rode our Friesian gelding Frits van Quantum in the Elementary class. A busy day and such valuable experience for the horses. Thank you Liza-Mari van Niekerk for the photos and Lauren Koen for hosting a well run event.

Wayne has qualified to compete at WEG, 18- 23 August 2026, in Aachen. He is the first South African, and possibly African driver, to have achieved this. This is a huge team effort and without our head groom Jason Laloux, Paul Pavlides (navigator and Chef d'Equipe), Keith Bennie (back stepper, truck driver and equipment manager), our many friends in Valkenswaard, especially Boyd Exell who has trained Wayne since 2013, and all who have played a part in this journey, it would not have materialised. Congratulations Wayne! Wishing you and your team the very best for Aachen. Go team SA!

Eastrand Working Equitation Series @ 5th Avenue over the weekend. Roxy Liechti competed in level 5 on Lorenzo QS. Luan Forrester competed on Lambada QS in level 3 and I rode Delfim in level 4. Although this sport is great fun, its also quite technical and small details make a huge difference in the final results. Thank you to Christelle Smith Carstens and her team that made this a successful event. Credit to Liza-Mari for the lovely photos.
