What Goes Into a Blessing Bag? 🐾💛

Have you ever wondered what we mean when we say we’re putting together Blessing Bags for people experiencing homelessness or going through a hard time?

Our goal is simple: fill a large bag with useful, comforting goodies for both the human AND their pet. We want each bag to provide a couple of meals, some basic necessities, and a few little things that can bring comfort and dignity during a difficult time.

Here’s what went into the bag pictured:

🧺 A tablecloth - Something that can be used for shade, a ground covering, or whatever they may need it for
🧣 A blanket
🐶 Dog kibble
🥫 Wet dog food
🦴 A healthy dog chew
🧼 Baby wipes
🪥 A new toothbrush & toothpaste
🧴 A bar of soap
🐾 Paw balm (lucky dog — this is a rare treat in our bags!)
🪮 Dog brush (also a rare treat!)
💇‍♀️ Comb
🧴 Travel-size shampoo & conditioner
✂️ Small scissors & a pen
🩷 Feminine hygiene products
🪒 A disposable razor
🐟 A couple of tuna meals
🍪 A few snacks
💧 Water flavor packet (we also provide bottles of water)
🎒 A little bonus bag for hygiene products + a card holder
🐕 A dog harness (and if it doesn't fit their dog, we'll swap it for one that does!)

Ideally, we'd love to be able to give even more in every bag. But we're just getting started, and even this is still a BIG blessing to someone who may be going without. ❤️

And that's what this project is all about.

A meal.
A blanket.
Something for their dog.
Something to help them feel cared about.
A reminder that someone sees them and they matter.

We are always accepting donations to help us continue filling these bags! And remember, proceeds from our Painted Paws Bags also go directly toward purchasing supplies and filling Blessing Bags. 🐾🎨

BIG NEWS FROM SILLY PAWS! 🐾❤️

Kayleigh is taking a BIG step back from the day-to-day operations of Silly Paws 🥹❤️

Don’t worry — Kayleigh isn’t going anywhere! 🐾 She’ll still be very much involved in the business, handling the back-end work and making sure everything continues to run smoothly. She’ll just be stepping away from being the primary person handling bookings, messages, and day-to-day boarding.

And that’s where HOLLY comes in! 🐶❤️

Holly will be training with Kayleigh and taking over as the main boarder and main point of contact through this page for the foreseeable future.

She’ll be taking care of your babies, communicating with you, handling bookings, and — most importantly — making sure everyone is following our Silly Paws rules 😉😂🐾

A few important notes:

📌 If you are already booked on Kayleigh’s 2026 schedule, nothing changes! Those bookings will remain with Kayleigh.

📌 Moving forward, Kayleigh will be taking a minimum number of bookings on weekends only.

📌 Holly will be the primary person handling new bookings and day-to-day communication.

This is definitely a BIG change, but it’s one we’re really excited about! Kayleigh has poured so much time, love, and work into Silly Paws, and she’s incredibly grateful that she gets to continue being part of it while taking some much needed time with her family 🥰

So please give Holly some love and patience as she steps into her new role! ❤️🐾
