It's spay day for sweet Roxanne, the Petite Pittie girl we helped spring from a local shelter last week. The current terrible pet overpopulation crisis is largely the result of owners not altering their pets. We know it can be expensive! Reach out to us or any local shelter or rescue for help finding lower cost spay/neuter programs. It saves lives, like that of this beautiful girl!

Welcome to WTRF, Sammy!

After four wonderful years with our beloved fospice boy, Mr. Dan, we knew it was time to turn the sadness of his passing into an opportunity to help for another senior in need. Sammy, a 15-year-old gentleman from the joined our WTRF family.

Though he comes to us with a few health challenges—bad teeth, some hind leg weakness, and flea strike on his ears—we’re ready to give him all the love and care he deserves. Sammy was surrendered when his family could no longer care for him, but he’s found his new home with us.

Senior pets may have a few extra needs, but they give so much in return. They’re loving, wise, and incredibly grateful companions who deserve a second chance. If you’ve ever considered opening your heart to a senior pet, we can’t recommend it enough and would be happy to help you search for the perfect companion.

Happy St Patty's Day from WTRF alum Bailey. This gorgeous hunk was found dumped in a huge state park as a small pup. He must have the luck of the Irish, though as not only was he found, he landed in the absolute most perfect home!

Rescue Mission Success!

Through rain, snow, and miles of road, we safely transported some big, lovable pups from the Solano Shelter to safety in Mono County! It wasn’t easy—slick roads, cold winds, chain requirements and a whole lot of teamwork—but every minute was worth it to get these gentle giants to a warm, safe place.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped along the way! These dogs now have a second chance, and we couldn’t do it without you!

Help Bailey find a loving home!

This sweet 12-year-old Norfolk/Border terrier mix is in urgent need of a foster or adopter. Her 98-year-old mom, who adores her, is hospitalized with cancer. Finding Bailey a loving forever family would bring her mom immense peace.

Bailey is medium-sized, spayed, up to date on vaccinations, recently had a dental cleaning, and is in great health. As a bonus, Pet Cuts in Napa has generously offered free lifetime grooming for Bailey!

Bailey has been an only pet but loves people and seems to do well with other dogs. (Her compatibility with cats is unknown.) She’s easygoing and will make a wonderful companion.

We’d love for Bailey to stay in the Napa area or nearby, if possible. If you’re interested in giving this sweet girl a home, please contact Annie at Pet Cuts at 707-258-1164 for more information.

We are escorting sweet Holly from Mexico to a foster in the States. Many rescues at popular vacation spots have transfer programs with rescue partners. Escorting a pet is an easy way to help! The rescue arranges all the paper work and covers the cabin fee. If in Cabo contact BAJA S.A.F.E. if you're able to help. Other places, like Maui Humane on Maui, allow visitors to take shelter dogs on beach walks.
