This sweet girl came to the Orange County Humane Society through Garden Grove Animal Control after enduring a severe flea infestation, being emaciated, and fighting an upper respiratory infection. Despite everything she’s been through, she is still incredibly gentle, cuddly, and full of love. 🤍
We’re honored to be treating her here at AAA Animal Hospital, and once she’s feeling better, she’ll be available for adoption through OCHS.
This holiday season, please consider looking to your local shelters to find your forever furry best friend. 🐾🎄

This cutie pie had one of most common orthopedic procedures we see: TPLO (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy) for dogs with a torn cranial cruciate ligament (CCL).

A CCL tear is similar to an ACL injury in people and is a leading cause of lameness in dogs. When the ligament is damaged, the knee becomes unstable, painful, and prone to progressive arthritis. TPLO surgery is designed to restore stability and help pets return to comfortable, active lives.

What TPLO Does:
Instead of repairing the torn ligament directly, TPLO changes the angle of the tibia so the knee stays stable with every step your dog takes. This approach has an excellent success rate and is especially beneficial for active dogs or medium–large breeds.

If your dog is limping, slowing down, or showing signs of knee pain, our team is here to help evaluate whether TPLO or another treatment option is right for them. 🐶💙
Feel free to call us with any questions or to schedule a consultation!

Big thank you to for helping Buddy’s owner during this difficult time!

Swipe for before and after 🆘 A perianal mass can appear as a swelling near the a**s and may be caused by tumors, cysts, or gland issues. While some are benign, others can be malignant, so early evaluation by a veterinarian is key.

Diagnosis usually involves a physical exam, imaging, and a biopsy to determine the exact cause. Treatment depends on the type and location of the mass, ranging from monitoring to surgical removal.

Spot something unusual? Don’t wait — early detection makes all the difference! 💙

Before and after ✨

Even newborn puppies can suffer lacerations (day one here), often from mom’s teeth or nails during delivery or cleaning. Because their skin is so thin and their immune systems are immature, even a small wound can become serious quickly.

Prompt veterinary attention is essential. Treatment often involves gentle cleaning, +/- suturing under local or light anesthesia, +/- antibiotics if there’s risk of infection, depending on age. Keeping the puppy warm and nursing well afterward is just as important for healing.

If you ever notice a wound on a neonate, no matter how small, seek veterinary care immediately. Early intervention can make all the difference. 💕
