September 11th – We Remember 🇺🇸

Today we pause to honor and remember the lives lost, the heroes who gave everything, and the families forever changed on September 11, 2001.

We also hold close in our hearts the service dogs who tirelessly worked alongside first responders in the aftermath—providing comfort, searching for survivors, and standing as a symbol of hope during our nation’s darkest hours.

At Salty Paws Veterinary Hospital, we are grateful every day for the bond between humans and animals, and on this day especially, we reflect on the strength, love, and healing they bring.

Griffey's Socialization Journey at Salty Paws
Griffey is a 8-month-old male Cane Corso whose owners possess extensive experience with this remarkable breed. During his initial visit, Griffey was quite shy and wary around our staff. However, we were confident that with his dedicated owners and our support, he would make great progress. For the past six months, Griffey has attended puppy socialization sessions two to three times each week. Both his owners and our team have invested extra time and care to help Griffey feel at ease in new environments and with different people. We are incredibly proud of Griffey’s growth and the positive strides he has made. Below, you can find pictures capturing Griffey’s Salty Paws adventures alongside his friends.

Meet our brave friend Oliver! 🐾

Oliver went on vacation to a family member’s home, but during his stay, he got lost outside. After being missing for 19 long days, his family was overjoyed to finally find him and brought him straight to Salty Paws Veterinary Hospital.

Dr. Dirmeyer and Dr. Blessing carefully assessed Oliver and discovered that while he was missing, he had suffered an injury to his tail—possibly from a bite or other trauma. Thanks to the quick action of his family and our medical team, Oliver received the care and surgery he needed. 💙
