On this last day of Veterinary Technician Week, we bring you Lou Siaosi.

Lou has been with AEC from the start! While not a licensed technician yet, she is working towards getting her license through an AVMA accredited distance learning program. When not saving lives on the ER floor, she is giving back to the community by keeping the Peninsula SPCA’s clinic running and helping with fundraising events such as Fur Ball and Barktober fest. She has an unmeasurable dedication to animal medicine and welfare. When not at work, she is traveling with her family or doing photo shoots with her beloved yorki, Nino.

Today we would like to spotlight Kelly Simonds, LVT

My name is Kelly! I'm a licensed veterinary technician. I have been working with animals since 2000, my first job working with animals was on a dairy farm in Maine. I grew up on a farm with horses, and even had my own pig I caught in a pig scramble! I've been in veterinary medicine for many many years, while my passion is in emergency and critical care, I have worked in many facets of the field including working with large animals, exotics, wildlife, and companion animals. Being a technician is tough at times, but being able to help animals and their owners is truly rewarding!

In honor of National Vet Tech Week, we will be spotlighting one of our amazing LVT's each day. This week we start off with Heather Beers.

Heather Beers, LVT, has a diverse background, starting from work in a kennel and transitioning into a dual role in both emergency and day practices. When not focused on caring for animals, she enjoys spending quality time with her son and engaging in various creative hobbies. A dedicated pet owner and foster parent to kittens, her passion for animal welfare extends beyond her career. She also finds fulfillment in crafting and attending conventions and Renaissance fairs.

This week we celebrate National Veterinary Technician Week. Please help us celebrate and thank these individuals who have dedicated their life and careers to caring for animals. They truly are magnificent people and I am so proud to have several amazing LVT's at AEC who pass on their skills, love and compassion on to all of our patients. Continue to be amazing at what you all do, and remember you all are absolutely appreciated for everything you do.
