The York County SPCA is proud to be a no-kill animal shelter. But what does "no-kill" actually mean?

A no-kill shelter is one that achieves a save rate of 90% or higher. It also means that we do not euthanize animals simply to create space in our shelter. Every healthy and treatable animal is given the opportunity to find a loving home.

We're incredibly proud to share that, as of 2025, the York County SPCA achieved a 95.3% save rate!

This milestone is only possible because of the dedication of our staff, volunteers, fosters, and supporters. Whether you've shared our posts, made a donation, purchased merchandise, adopted a pet, volunteered your time, or sent supplies from our Amazon Wish List, you have played a role in saving lives.

Every animal who finds safety, healing, and a second chance is a testament to what our community can accomplish together. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being part of our village. We couldn't do it without you. ❤️🐾

Meet Lilo!
At 7 years old, Lilo is the perfect combo of leisurely walks and cuddle sessions. With her houndy mix nose, this girl loves exploring the trails! A little hesitant with new people, the way to her heart is definitely through her stomach!

More of a laid-back girl, Lilo longs to feel loved by the furever family of her dreams. Reportedly housebroken and dog selective, we just know the right home is out there for this PAWsome gal. We do offer supervised meet and greets to best ensure a good match is made. For any homes bringing in a new furry addition, we always recommend ongoing supervision and slow, safe incorporation.

A huge thank you to That Fish Place for hosting a donation drive to support the animals at the York County SPCA! ❤️🐾

We are so grateful for businesses in our community that choose to support our mission and help provide care, comfort, and second chances to the animals who rely on us every day. Community partnerships like this truly make a difference.

Help us support York County SPCA with a pet supplies drive! 💗
Recently, over 50 dogs were rescued from a large-scale animal hoarding case in York County. York County SPCA is preparing for over 50 rescued dogs and could use extra supplies. This is the largest dog hoarding case in this organization's history, and in moments of great need, this is where they could really use some extra help.
We’re partnering with York County SPCA and are hosting a donation drive now through Memorial Day. All supplies that are gathered will be taken to the York County SPCA location.

The items that they are most in need of are Large to XL Dog Crates and Wet/Dry Food.
Other items that are helpful:
- Soft Treats
- New Dog Toys (Large & XL Kongs are best)
- Kitten and Puppy Wet Food
- Pellet Cat Litter (Fresh News and Naturally Fresh) .. learn more here with York County SPCA's wish list: https://ycspca.org/ways-to-give/wish-list/

We have such an amazing community that cares so deeply for animals. Please, consider helping out if you can.
