Vegas is a 6-year-old shepherd mix who is struggling in the shelter environment. The stress and noise here make him anxious, and he will even refuse food. But we know there’s so much more to this sweet boy than what we see at the shelter.

Vegas recently spent time in a foster home, where he began to eat well and show us his true personality. Unfortunately, due to his anxiety around the small child in the home he needed to come back to the shelter. We know Vegas will thrive in a patient, adult-only home where he can continue to build confidence and trust.

Many cats struggle with the stress of being in a shelter, making it hard for their true personalities to shine. That’s why we place them in foster homes, where they can relax and feel safe. To help them find their forever homes without added stress, we offer virtual meet-and-greets via Zoom!

Instead of meeting a nervous kitty in a shelter setting, potential adopters can chat with the foster parent and see the cat in a comfortable home environment. If the virtual meet goes well, the adoption is finalized at the shelter, and the cat is picked up on the spot—minimizing stress and setting them up for success!

Meet Mermaid, our stunning gray beauty with mesmerizing green eyes! This sweet but sassy girl has been with us since August, making her our longest resident cat. She’s been patiently waiting for the right person to see what we already know—she’s an absolute gem! 💎🧜‍♀️

Mermaid may be a little standoffish at first, but once she trusts you, she’ll be your loyal lap cat, purring up a storm. She loves playing hide and seek, chasing laser lights, and of course, indulging in her favorite Meow Mix treats! 🍽️🐟
