Halo attended the Reynolds & Reynolds Nonprofit Fair today, and we were thrilled to have so many people stop by our booth to learn about who we are, what we do, and, most importantly, how they can help!

With the help of our sweet foster dog, Dixie, our booth was consistently busy with visitors eager to learn more about Halo and our mission. And, of course, everyone wanted an opportunity to love on Dixie. She definitely stole the show!

At one point, Dixie wandered out into the middle of the floor right in front of our booth and plopped down for a nap. People had to walk around her, which gave us the perfect opportunity to introduce ourselves and share our mission. We raise smart dogs at Halo!

If you've been looking for a volunteer opportunity where your time and effort can make a real difference in lives of dogs like Dixie, we'd love to hear from you!

There are so many ways to help! We need:
•Dog walkers
•Foster families
•Event volunteers
•Fundraisers
•People willing to spend time loving on and cuddling our dogs
•Volunteers to help with social media and our website

Please contact us using the information below to learn more about our upcoming volunteer meeting in November.

Our dogs could sure use your help, and we guarantee the rewards are well worth the effort!

Come join the Halo family and help us make a difference, one dog at a time. 🐾❤️

Gatsby (aka Gabby) is a really handsome 2.5 year old boy who gets along with along with both dogs and cats. Don’t let his very shy demeanor when first meeting him fool you, he’s extremely playful and an expert toy thief. He loves playing in his fenced backyard with the 5 other canine residents at his foster home and leaps with joy to meet you when you come home. He’s housebroken, crate-trained and has good house manners, though he has some separation anxiety when left alone, so his foster mom crates him while she’s gone. He will need a patient adopter who can continue his socialization journey, since he is still afraid when taken anywhere on a leash, though he has been getting progressively better with each outing. He would be a great addition in a home with other friendly , confident dogs who can help him continue building his self-confidence and an owner who is both patient and committed to continue building his social skills.

Meet Frank, the lovable senior dog in search of his forever home! After the passing of his beloved mom, Frank’s journey has been tough, but his resilient spirit shines bright.

Frank loves most nice dogs and puppies, he absolutely adores puppies! Watching him play with these little bundles of joy is truly heartwarming. His favorite activities include nature walks, where he enjoys exploring the great outdoors and taking in all the new scents.

This charming gentleman is a perfect companion for car rides and errands, always ready to soak in the sights and sounds with his calm demeanor. While he’s full of s***k and zest for life, Frank also cherishes quiet moments, curling up on the couch for some quality cuddle time.

If you’re ready to open your heart to a senior dog who will fill your life with love and joy, Frank is the perfect match for you!

**SPECIAL NEEDS**

Meet Dory, the dough-eyed strawberry princess! She is a ~5-year-old Rottweiler and looking for her forever home. She is potty-trained, rides perfectly in a car, walks very well on a leash, has a calm temperament, and is friendly with kids and dogs! She is not destructive and does not require crating when left home alone. Dory LOVES her ball (and has one particular favorite!), sticking her head out the window on car rides, and being with her people. She bonds strongly with her family and learns quickly. While living with her foster family, she has learned basic commands, how to use stairs, and has grown significantly in confidence. Dory is looking for a family that enjoys a balance of downtime and playtime. She loves playing with her ball & carrying around her stuffies, but she's also perfectly happy relaxing with her people and enjoying plenty of downtime and cuddles.

Dory is special needs with a torn cruciate (knee injury) and hip dyslpasia in both hips. She recieves pain management and her conditions will require monitoring by a veterinarian
