👵🐾 August 21 is World Senior Citizen Day and we’re celebrating the golden oldies in our lives, both human and furry! 💛

Just like people, pets deserve extra love and care as they age. Senior pets may slow down a bit, but they’re full of wisdom, loyalty, and unconditional love. 🐶🐱

Here are a few ways to support your senior pet:
✔️ Regular wellness exams to catch age-related changes early
✔️ Joint supplements or pain management for arthritis
✔️ Softer beds and ramps for comfort and accessibility
✔️ Plenty of gentle play, affection, and attention

Senior pets make the best companions and they’ve earned every belly rub. 🥰

🦟🌍 August 20 is World Mosquito Day and while it may not be a holiday you celebrate, it is a great reminder to protect your pets from these pesky pests! 🐾

✅ The best protection? Year-round heartworm prevention and regular testing.
✅ Reduce standing water around your home to limit mosquito breeding grounds.
✅ Ask us about the safest and most effective preventatives for your pet!

A tiny bite can cause big problems, so let’s keep our furry friends safe and protected. 🐶🐱💕

💉🐾 August is Immunization Awareness Month and that includes our furry family members, too! 🐾💉

Vaccines play a vital role in keeping your pet healthy and protected from serious, and often preventable, diseases like rabies, parvovirus, distemper, feline leukemia, and more.

Why vaccinate?
✅ It protects your pet from life-threatening illnesses
✅ It prevents the spread of diseases to other animals (and in some cases, humans)
✅ It’s often required for boarding, grooming, and travel
✅ It can save you from costly emergency vet visits

Not sure if your pet is up to date? We’re here to help! Call us to review your pet’s vaccine schedule or book a wellness visit. Let’s keep your best friend safe, healthy, and ready for all of life’s adventures. 🐶🐱❤️

📚🐾 Back to School = Big Changes (for pets, too!) 🐾📚

As the school year kicks off and routines shift, our pets may feel a little confused or lonely with all the sudden quiet at home. Here are a few tips to help your furry friend adjust to the back-to-school season:

🐕 Stick to a routine: Feed, walk, and play with your pet at consistent times. Routine = comfort!
🐾 Morning playtime: A little extra attention before everyone heads out can help burn off energy and ease separation anxiety.
🎾 Leave engaging toys: Puzzle feeders or chew toys can keep your pet occupied during the day.
👋 Practice short absences: Ease the transition by gradually increasing the time your pet spends alone.
🩺 Watch for behavior changes: Excessive barking, chewing, or accidents might mean your pet’s feeling stressed.

School may be in session, but your pet still needs attention, care, and a little extra love while their favorite humans are busy learning! 💙

🦷💨 Does your pet's breath make you want to hold your nose? It might be more than just "dog breath" or "cat breath," bad breath can be a sign of dental disease.

Dental disease is one of the most common health issues in pets, and it often goes unnoticed. Plaque, tartar, and bacteria build up over time, leading to gum inflammation, pain, tooth loss, and even problems with the heart, liver, and kidneys.

🐾 Signs to watch for:
✅ Bad breath
✅ Drooling or dropping food
✅ Red or bleeding gums
✅ Pawing at the mouth
✅ Reluctance to eat

Regular dental care is key to a happy, healthy pet! If your furry friend’s breath could clear a room, it’s time to schedule a dental checkup. 🐶🐱

🍉🐾 Can Pets Eat Watermelon? 🐾🍉

Yes—in moderation, watermelon can be a safe and refreshing summer treat for your dog! 🐶☀️ It’s low in calories, hydrating, and full of vitamins A, B6, and C.

🛑 But before you share that sweet slice:
✅ Remove all seeds (they can cause blockages)
✅ Skip the rind (it’s tough to digest)
✅ Serve in small, bite-sized pieces

Cats? Some may enjoy a nibble, but most prefer to pass. 😺

Remember, treats like watermelon should only make up a small part of your pet’s diet.
