I donโt know the full story of whatโs happening in California right now.
And I donโt want to assume or point fingers.
But I canโt stop thinking about what happens next to these animals.
Hundreds of them are being moved out of one situation - and I keep asking myself ..where do they go from here?
Because the answer is overcrowded shelters, then we โre not really solving the problem ..were just moving it .
And the hardest part is this -
Because if they are transferred into already overcrowded municipal shelters , it doesnโt just put them at risk..
it puts the dogs already there at risk too.
๐ When space runs out , euthanasia becomes the reality .
๐ Not because they arenโt worthy - but because there is nowhere for them to go .
There has to be a better way .
What if instead of sending then into the system ..
We caught them before they got there ?
โค๏ธThe solution is to move them in the right direction.
That means:
๐พ Direct placement into rescues - not shelters
๐ Fosters to create immediate space
๐Finanvial support to cover :
Medical care, Vaccinations, spay/neuter , Boarding when needed
And if they never enter the shelter system ..
We prevent a ripple effect that could cost even more lives .
This isnโt about blame .
This is about finding a way forward that protects every single animal involved .
