Received this update and photos from the family that adopted Forest from our Skye/Grimm litter. ❤️❤️❤️

Hello I wanted to say that we have been in love with our new furry friend Forest (now Hercules). He has been so friendly, well mannered, and a quick learner. He’s friends with all our other dogs especially our golden retriever. He does great with socializing and everyone stops to say how cute he is. He’s officially 16 weeks today and getting big. Vet appointments have all gone great and his next is tomorrow. I’m guessing he’ll be almost 30 lbs already! Thank you again and will highly recommend you to anyone looking for a german Shepherd

Inspired by my friend with Clear Ridge German Shepherds, because this is some important information for you to know ❤️:
Before placing a deposit, I encourage every family to understand how puppy selection works in my program.

Bringing home a German Shepherd puppy is an exciting milestone, and it’s completely natural to have preferences for coat color, markings, or gender. While those characteristics certainly matter to many families, they are never my primary focus when matching puppies. My top priorities are health, sound structure, stable temperament, and placing each puppy in the home where it will thrive.

Every German Shepherd is an individual. Even within the same litter, puppies can vary significantly in confidence, energy level, working drive, trainability, and overall personality. Some are better suited for active sport or working homes, while others are happiest as loyal family companions, therapy prospects, or service dog candidates.

Deposits are accepted based on the preferred gender and the order they are received. Although families hold their place in the selection order, final puppy choices are typically made around 6–7 weeks of age. By then, I’ve had the opportunity to evaluate each puppy’s temperament, confidence, drive, and developing personality while also getting to know each family’s lifestyle, experience, and goals.

When it’s your turn to choose, we’ll discuss the puppies that I believe are the best fit for your home. My goal is to help you make an informed decision—not simply choose based on appearance. If I don’t believe a particular puppy is the right match for your family, I won’t recommend or offer that puppy.

For example:

* A family wanting a calm, easygoing companion won’t be matched with one of the highest-drive puppies.
* A sport or working home will be directed toward puppies with the confidence, focus, and drive needed for those activities.
* Families interested in therapy or service work will be guided toward puppies demonstrating the stability, resilience, and people-oriented temperament those roles require.

Can you get both the color you want and the temperament that best fits your family? Often, yes—but sometimes it requires patience or flexibility. While I have breeding goals for every litter, each puppy develops into its own unique individual. My responsibility is to place each one where it has the greatest opportunity to succeed.

If you have your heart set on a particular puppy, placing your deposit early gives you the best opportunity. If a puppy is still available when selections begin and I feel it is a suitable match for your home, I’m happy to discuss reserving that puppy for you.

In rare cases, exceptions may be considered for experienced German Shepherd owners or established, health-focused breeders. However, I reserve full registration and breeding rights very selectively and only for programs that share my commitment to health testing, sound temperament, and preserving the breed.

Above all, I reserve the right to make the final placement decision if I believe a different puppy—or a different home—will provide the best outcome for both the puppy and the family.

My commitment is to produce healthy, stable, versatile German Shepherds and to ensure every puppy is matched with the home where it can become the very best companion, working partner, or family member possible.

As always, I’m happy to answer any questions and help guide you through the process. 🖤🐾
