💙 Different doesn’t mean difficult… Meet Frost! 💙

This darling young Boxer girl is waiting patiently for her family to come scoop her up, but the shelter is a confusing place and waiting in a kennel is hard. 😞

We do believe Frost is deaf, and the shelter can be an overwhelming place for a dog like her. Even so, she continues to show us how kind, soft, and trusting she is.

She isn’t asking for much; just safety, patience, and a person who will help her navigate the world with kindness and consistency. Frost can go to a home with children and would truly shine with a family willing to give her the understanding she needs to feel secure.

Because she cannot hear, a securely fenced yard is very important for her safety, and a home familiar with deaf dogs—or open to learning simple communication methods—would be ideal. What she needs most is someone who will take the time to guide her and build her confidence.

Frost has so much love to give. She’s just waiting for the chance to finally feel safe enough to share it.

Please share to help her find the patient, loving home she deserves. 🐾

Sal is about 2 years old and such a friendly kitty. He does not like other cats so he will have to be an only cat. He originally came to us as part of a TNR project, but it quickly became clear that Sal is far too social and affectionate to go back to life outside.
Now he’s ready to find a loving forever home where he can enjoy the indoor life he deserves. Sal would love a family to give him attention, pets, and a cozy place to call his own.
If you’d like to give this sweet boy the happy ending he’s been waiting for, please send in your application! 💛

Big goofy Max 💙

Max is a friendly and playful shepherd mix who is around 3 years and nearly 80lbs 😮 This handsome boy came to us from another NJ shelter and is excited to find his new family 🫶🏻

Max is a happy guy who loves going for walks, playing with toys, being brushed, and meeting new people 🥰 We thinks Max would do well in an active home with a dog-savvy fam ready to guide him with basic training to be his best self ✅ Max may be able to have a compatible canine friend!

We’re here all weekend from 12-5pm for walk in visits 🐶 See more dogs here: bit.ly/3l9EtmZ

Sweet Queenie 🐾

Queenie has been at the shelter for 1 year and 5 months — far too long for any dog.
She came to the shelter as a seized & surrendered terrified and unsure of people. At first, she wouldn’t let anyone get close to her. The constant barking from other dogs and the nearby outdoor shooting range only made her anxiety worse.

With patience, kindness, and slow progress, Queenie began taking treats and coming to the front of her kennel. When things are calmer at the shelter, staff members have been able to spend time working with her, and she continues to improve every day.

Queenie is looking for:
• A quiet home
• Older teens or adult-only household
• A patient family willing to give her time to decompress
• Continued training (the shelter will provide 3 free training sessions)
• No other pets

Queenie deserves the chance to finally feel safe and loved. If you think you could be the right fit for her — whether through adoption, foster-to-adopt, or fostering — please contact the Union Animal Shelter.
