Stepping Stones Canine rescue - About Us

With years of animal rescue and fostering experience between them, a group of friends recognized the need for a canine only rescue group in the Triad area. Consolidating their shared goal to help dogs of all breeds find the best possible home, while also matching adopters with their ideal companion, they joined forces to create a new rescue group. Stepping Stones Canine Rescue is a charitable and educational non-profit corporation, located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Our volunteers share an enthusiasm for dogs and support a mission to rescue, protect, provide sanctuary and ultimately find adoptive families for abandoned, stray and neglected dogs. All of our dogs are housed in foster homes where they are provided with an enormous amount of love and any medical attention needed to insure their best health before adoption. All dogs are evaluated for temperament and personality, helping us to place them in homes that are well suited to their needs and to the needs of their future family.

🚨Stop what you're doing and look at this cute baby! 🚨

Please meet Benny, who has been hanging out with us in foster care. He's ready to find his forever family! Details below along with the link to apply for adoption.

-----------------------

Breed: Cute little Dachshund Mix

DOB: approximately 01/01/2026

Weight: 16 lbs

Likes: Great with adults, kids, other dogs, and cats.

Crate-trained/House broken: Yes

Energy level: Medium

Foster Notes: If you’re looking for a loving little sidekick who will follow you from room to room, enjoy adventures with you, and keep life entertaining, this sweet boy could be your perfect match! He would do best in a home with someone who can spend some time letting him settle in and help him get comfortable. Benny is also a perfect alert dog for when something is going on outside,

Medical notes: Benny has been seen by our vets and has received a clean bill of health! He has had all of his vaccines, has been neutered and microchipped, and has tested negative for heartworms and other parasites.

Fenced Yard: Required. This little guy sometimes thinks with his nose, so he will need a secure area to run and play in,

If you are interested in giving Benny the loving home he deserves, please fill out an application at the link below to get the ball rolling on a meet and greet.
