HAPPY NATIONAL CAT DAY!! 😻

Today to celebrate, I’m giving a little extra love to Freida, who’s still here and has been waiting for FAR too long for a furever home just because she gets extremely shy on adoption day with all the hustle and bustle. When it’s quiet and calm, she doesn’t care where she is: litter box or not, she wants to be pet! However, can confirm she’d prefer love outside the box…and cage too! Freida will be here all weekend if you are ready to open your home to the sweetest tux there is! 🖤🤍😻

If not Freida, who’s at home that you are loving a little extra today? And make sure you give them an extra treat and a little scratch on the head from all of us at CCC!! 😻😻

The weather is getting colder and the season of thanks is upon us, so why not feel all sorts of grateful for your new furry friend while snuggling on the couch this fall 🥹

It’s Día de Mu***os para Mascotas: Day of the Dead for pets, and a nice reminder that they’re never too far…

Celebrated annually on October 27th, tonight marks the night when the spirits of departed animals are believed to return to the living world to visit their families.

Many create ofrendas, or altars to commemorate their pet and welcome them back, with their favorite treats, toys, and memorial items.

It’s a day to remember, a day to honor, a day that proves love never dies.

Ever wanted a real life Pokémon? Well, I don’t mean to brag but we have a Togepi here right now!!

Grab a pokeball and hurry over even if you have one of these in your Pokédex already!! Because you’re going to want to catch this Togepi.

Togepi is the sweetest gal. We don’t know much about her past as she came to us as a stray, but what we do know about Togepi is she cannot possibly get enough of human interaction and loves to show her affection. Togepi adores pets and will let out little meows to try to get someone’s attention when she wants to hang out more. She is going to make the very best companion 🤞

TGIFF (thank god it’s foster Friday)!!!😻

Jack and Paprika, meet Internet. Internet, meet Jack and Paprika. 🤝

I can’t get over how CUTE this brother-sister pair is! These two are a bit timid at first, but once they warm up they are the definition of classic kittens. So lovey, so playful, so friendly, so sweet! 🧡

Jack and Paprika will need to be adopted together: preferably to a forever home without young children as they do better in a quiet and calm environment.

Best part: these two babies will be at the shelter this weekend (along with a few other kittens 🤭)! But don’t hold it against them if they are a bit reserved.

Jack and Paprika love a calm environment and are accustomed to their foster home, so being surrounded by so many people and noises and cats may be a lot for them to handle. But we can assure you once they are comfortable and home, they turn into the sweetest little besties 🥹❤️

Feline fans; I am passing on a very important message from our cat intake coordinator.

With the consistent cold nights beginning and the change of seasons, our already high number of requests for help have started to rise.

Here’s the reality: we are busy as can be with rescue and have a long wait list for cats to take in, and we cannot always help as soon as some would like us to.

If you are reaching out for rescue help, PLEASE be patient with us. Of course we want to help, that’s the name of the game! But we can only go as far as our resources, funding, and shelter space allow us to. And right now, we have a lot of cats that need us in-shelter.

We know some situations are unexpected, but if you are able to plan ahead with a need for rescue, please do so. Inquiries for rescue help must be directed to [email protected] to be put on the waitlist.

Don’t wait for the devastating event before reaching out…because truth be told, we don’t always have the capacity or funds for immediate rescue. Get them on the waitlist before something happens; before they get hurt, before they disappear, before they are cold, before they get sick, or before they get pregnant and one rescue turns into 6.

This year continues to be an exceptionally difficult one in rescue, but there are ways you can help us this season if you are able:

➡️Donate: Donations primarily go toward our medical expenses. And the quicker cats are vetted and cleared for adoptions; the quicker cages become available for the next kitty on the list. Our Donorbox link can be found here: https://donorbox.org/connecticut-cat-connection-fund

➡️Foster: You’ve heard it before, but it’s true. Fostering is one of the strongest tools we use. With foster, a cat is safe inside: being socialized, fed, and loved. While this is happening, another cage becomes open for a different cat to join the CCC crew. Two cats saved because of one selfless act.

➡️Adopt: If you’re in a position to adopt and you feel ready, what are you waiting for!? We are at capacity with so many cats ready to go home and become a part of your family!
