Jasper the Rottweiler came to training with some heavy baggage — none of it his fault. His first 10 months of life were all about surviving human abuse. That kind of pain doesn’t just go away, and for his new family, it showed up in the form of conflict and even a few bites.

To make things harder, Jasper had also been hit by a car and clipped by cyclists. So when anything with wheels came near, he went into full defense mode — barking, lunging, losing his mind to keep himself safe.

Fast forward to today 👉 with tons of confidence building, counter-conditioning, and solid obedience work, Jasper went home a different dog.

He might never be the “brewery or winery” type — and that’s totally okay. His family gets him. They know how to advocate for him and protect his progress.

Mino the doodle didn’t have the easiest start. Before his rescue, even walking through a doorway terrified him. Once he began to trust his new family, it quickly became clear he needed structure—and fast.

Mino’s habits were spilling over to the rest of the household: nonstop barking, jumping on guests, counter surfing, trashcan diving, and play that sometimes escalated into fights. On leash, his fear was overwhelming. A falling leaf could send him into gator rolls, desperate to escape.

Felix the German Shepherd had a big adjustment ahead of him. After spending the last five years in West Africa—far from strange dogs and the bustle of a busy city—he suddenly found himself in downtown Arlington. The overstimulation hit hard, and Felix began reacting to other dogs in ways his family hadn’t seen before.

It was clear he couldn’t just be dropped into this new environment. He needed structure, confidence, and a plan. We put in countless obedience reps and counter-conditioning sessions, gradually exposing him to more and more stimulus while teaching him what was—and wasn’t—acceptable behavior.

The work paid off. Felix returned home able to impress his family with calm, controlled walks down the sidewalk—something that once seemed impossible. He learned to respond the first time he was asked, carrying himself with focus instead of frenzy.
