The T in TNR stands for Trap. Not Traumatize.
Our kittie clients quite enjoy their stay with us.

🚐🐾 A Truly “Heaven Sent” Gift 🐾🚐
We would like to express our deepest gratitude to Shayla Black . Because of her incredibly generous vehicle donation, we are able to continue our community work at maximum CAT-pacity. 😸

Transportation has always been 100% volunteer-powered:
💙 Volunteer vehicles
💙 Volunteer fuel
💙 Volunteer maintenance
💙 Volunteer time — 15 hour vet days, 6+ hour trap days, 3+ hour survey days, transporting equipment and cats across our local communities

Our volunteers truly give far more than they take to help improve lives for both cats and people.

Unfortunately, one of our primary transport vans was taken out by a deer… and let’s face it — not many vehicles (or people 😹) are eager or willing to transport 30+ cats, for hours at a time.

So when Shayla donated this van, it was truly heaven sent.
And the impact was immediate:
✨ In just ONE day, this van helped change the lives of 66 cats and kittens, their compassionate caregivers and our local community.

That means:
🐾 More cats safely transported
🐾 More spay/neuter access
🐾 More suffering prevented
🐾 Stronger, healthier communities for both cats and people

Because of this incredible donation, we also hope to proudly support and sport a Missouri “I’m Pet Friendly” license plate next year — helping further raise awareness and support spay/neuter across Missouri.
💙 Drop your cleaver plate ideas in comments.

While we are NOT asking for fuel, maintenance, insurance, or licensing support for this van…
👉 We ARE asking for help to spay it forward, so no cat is left behind.

Every donation helps provide:
✔️ Spay/neuter surgeries
✔️ Rabies vaccinations
✔️ Medical care
✔️ A healthier future for cats and people in our community

From the bottom of our hearts — THANK YOU, Shayla. 💙🐱

This van deserves a name; our current vehicle names already in use or retired ‘The Catilac, The Pur-Collator, Dora the Smurf'….. drop your names in comments.

🐦😹 One trapped bird in a day is unusual…
TWO MORE at another colony?!?

Mountain View, MO has something unique going on. 😂

Unlike the first colony we posted yesterday, this caretaker did NOT follow trap training directions at all… and the less-than-cat-enthusiastic neighbors were also actively trapping for a skunk during training week. 😅

The result?
Community cats…
plus bonus birds…
AND a skunk the neighbors weren’t quite sure what to do with once they successfully trapped it. 🤦‍♀️🦨

But this is exactly where we meet people — where they are.

This caretaker has spent their savings trying to help these cats: building shelters, buying food, and doing their best to care for a growing colony they simply can’t afford to keep expanding.

The problem?
🚨 Free feeding 24/7.

Not just feeding cats…
but feeding wildlife too:
🦨 Skunks
🦝 Raccoons
🐀 Others…

And that creates more risks for:
❌ Community cats
❌ Indoor pets
❌ People
❌ Wildlife

👉 Moral of the story:
CARE FOR CATS RESPONSIBLY — with more than just feeding the cats in mind.

✔️ Feed only 2 times per day
✔️ Feed only what can be eaten in about 1 hour
✔️ Remove leftover food
✔️ Never leave food out overnight

This not only discourages wildlife and pests —
it also helps ensure you actually SEE every cat you’re feeding, so you can ensure they are fixed and healthy.

💡 Another important tip:
Keep cat feeding stations and shelters as far away from bird feeding stations as possible.

And we understand…

You may love and care deeply for the cats.
But your neighbors may be frustrated.

💙 Help bridge that gap.
Care for them discreetly.
Care for them responsibly.
Fix them before the problems grow.

And most importantly —
this is rural Missouri:
Talk to your neighbors.
Respect their property.
Work together.

Because lasting solutions happen through community cooperation — not conflict. 🐱💙

We’re excited to share that Friends of Ferals received a $1,000 Spark Good Local Grant from Walmart Mountain View - W US Highway 60 !

Because of this support, we have been able to spay/neuter and rabies vaccinate 22 more cats in Mountain View, MO just this past week — preventing the birth of an estimated 1,320 more kittens in just one year.

This impact goes far beyond the cats.
It means happier neighborhoods, fewer animals suffering, less strain on compassionate caregivers, and a stronger, healthier community for both people and pets.

Thank you, Walmart Mountain View, for helping us spark good right here in our local community. Mountain View is better today because of your support, and we are honored to partner with you to improve lives in our local community— both cats and people.
