Did you know we have antivenom?

▪️Venom can attack the blood, red blood cells, nervous system, major organs, cause necrosis, and/or have negative long-term effects if not treated
▪️All venoms are different and may work synergistically to increase toxicity. E.g. clotting and thinning simultaneously.
▪️Can affect every major organ in the body.
▪️May be immediate and visible effects as well as delayed effects (both local or systemic).
▪️Venom binding times vary but may last for multiple days.

April is Animal Cruelty Awareness Month, a time to recognize the importance of protecting those who cannot speak for themselves and to take a stand against abuse and neglect in our community.

At Montgomery County Precinct 2 Constable’s Office, we take these cases seriously. Our office has dedicated detectives assigned specifically to investigate animal cruelty offenses. These investigators work tirelessly to follow up on reports, gather evidence, and ensure those responsible are held accountable under the law.

Animal cruelty is not just an issue affecting animals: it impacts the safety and well-being of our entire community. Studies have shown a strong link between animal abuse and other forms of violence, which is why early reporting and intervention are so important.

We encourage anyone who suspects animal cruelty or neglect to speak up. Your report could make all the difference in protecting an innocent life.
