🐾 Meet Teri Walker, part of our Horizon Waypoint™ Mentorship Program!

Teri is a graduate of Humble High School and is now attending Sam Houston State University, Class of 2030! 🎓

Teri recently shared that she’s interested in becoming a veterinary technician, and we’re excited to support her as she explores that path!

Through Horizon Waypoint, she’s gaining firsthand experience in a working veterinary hospital, learning about patient care, diagnostics, nursing, and the teamwork that makes great veterinary medicine possible.

One of the things we love about Waypoint is that students don’t have to have their entire future figured out. Some will become veterinarians. Others will become veterinary technicians or discover opportunities they hadn’t considered.

Our job is to give them meaningful experiences, good mentors, and the confidence to find the path that’s right for them.

🐾 Meet Jaylyn, she comes to us from Sam Houston State University!

Jaylyn is a senior at Sam from Angleton, Texas, with her sights set on veterinary school. She is part of the Horizon Waypoint™ Pre Veterinary Track, designed specifically for undergraduate students working toward that goal.

Through Waypoint, Jaylyn is getting real experience inside a working veterinary hospital and seeing veterinary medicine beyond the classroom: patient care, diagnostics, procedures, client communication, and the day to day decisions that come with caring for patients.

At this stage, Waypoint goes beyond exposure. It’s about helping future veterinary students build meaningful experience, confidence, and a better understanding of the profession before they enter veterinary school.

We’re glad to have you at Horizon, Jaylyn. Keep going. ❤️

A fantastic weekend meeting the next generation of veterinarians at Texas A&M. We introduced students to Horizon Waypoint™ mentorship and externships, Link™ Specialty Network, ARGO AI, advanced medicine, and what veterinary practice can look like when doctors are supported to grow.
