Meet the newest member of our DOGS EAT RITE family, James Patterson, aka “JP”.

JP is from Princes George’s County, MD. He is currently pursuing a career in dog nutrition, fueled by his passion for enhancing the health and well-being of our furry companions.

As a former Division 1 athlete in football, he brings the same dedication and discipline from his athletic pursuits into his work with dogs. JP has two dogs, Deuce and Cinnamon . The love for his dogs naturally led him to explore the world of dog health and breeding. Fascinated by the intricate relationship between diet, genetics, and overall wellness, his goal at DOGS EAT RITE is to educate fellow dog owners about the importance of nutrition and how it can positively impact their pets’ lives.

He believes that just as optimal nutrition is crucial for peak performance in sports, it is equally vital for the health and vitality of our canine friends. Advocating for natural ingredients, JP is eager to connect with like-minded individuals and professionals in the field as he works towards a dream of becoming a leader in dog wellness. “Together, let’s make a positive impact on the health and happiness of dogs everywhere!”

Heyy!!! I’m Sophie & I am ready to find my new home. I’m originally from Alabama but I am truly meant to be a Buffalo gal. I love the snow ⛄️ ❄️ & do not mind the cold. I am short, thick, & super sweet. I have a beautiful brindle coat to match my lovely personality. Weighing in at 22 pounds, I don’t expect I will get much bigger. So if you are looking for a smaller dog, I might be your gal.

Flora is her name and resilience is her game. In November 2024, this sweet girl was hit by a car while roaming the streets of Alabama as a stray. Thanks to our amazing rescue partner in Alabama, this girl survived the accident but required an amputation of her rear left leg. An incredible foster family in Alabama then stepped in to care for her and to rehab her as she completely relearned how to walk on only 3️⃣ legs. Now, just a few months later, Flora has healed and is ready to find her forever family here in WNY. This girl has overcome incredible odds on her journey and is ready to show the world that nothing can slow her down!

Here are some highlights of this special girl:
-       Incredibly walks, runs and is able to climb up and down stairs normally (will simply tire a little faster).  ✅
-       An independent girl who is happy to occupy herself with toys/bones, but will also cuddle up next to you on the couch or in bed. 🧸
-       Sleeps all night without a peep
-       Is potty trained and will sit by the door when she has to go 🚽
-       Crate-trained
-       Gets along well with other dogs and would love a doggy sibling that also likes to play (but is not required)  🐕
-       Has done great with little ones in her foster home, but may do best with older kids who can understand her balance, etc.
-       Has a sweet disposition and now wiggles her whole backside when she gets excited to see “her people”

If it weren’t for her scars, you wouldn’t even know all that this girl has been through. ❤️‍🩹 Her sweet face and incredible pointy ears will melt your heart the second you meet her! 😍 Every person who has been a part of Flora’s journey from Alabama to WNY can attest to how special she is. What she lacks in legs, she makes up for in personality and heart. 😝  If you think you are her perfect match and can give her the amazing life that she is SO deserving of, please apply!

Simon & his brother Theodore were the last 2 of their “chipmunk” litter found in a Tupperware bin on the side of the road down south to get their freedom ride to Buffalo!!
-gentle giant
-dog friendly
-potty trained (not 1 accident)
-crate trained; lil negotiating with a treat to go in, but then settles over night & while foster mom is working.
-hasn’t met any cats or kids yet
-learning leash skills & to stay in his lane
Being in a house & all the wonky noises it makes is new to Simon, so he sticks by you to investigate everything!
He’s the biggest & best cuddler & learning what to do with toys(especially ones that make weird noises). He’d love a furry buddy to help teach him new doggo tricks & a fenced in back yard for when things startle him.
So if you’re lookin for a big handsome 4 legged shadow then Simon is your pup!

Hey y’all my name is Theodore. My brother and I heard that Buffalo is a great place to make friends.🧑‍🤝‍🧑Well my brother Simon and I hitched a ride from Clark county.🚐
I must say it’s a bit colder here but that’s okay.
I currently live with my foster mom and 2 fur sisters, and 1 small fur brother. Oh and also should mention a little furball called a cat🐱. I’m still trying to figure out what he is but he just stays away from us. My siblings are full of energy and we have zoomie races in the big fenced in yard.
My foster mom takes me on walks and I make sure I wait for her and don’t pull.
I love toys,treats, and yes food. I will even wait for the cheese tax🧀 while you’re cooking. My foster says I’m a gentle giant but somewhat clumsy.
I’m shy since this is my first time in a home, so I need patience and time.
Currently I am learning to trust humans so don’t think I can’t be your best friend. I’m house trained and will go in my crate but prefer to be at your side. My favorite toy is chew toys it helps me relax besides being with you. If you have another dog they can help with my learning. Just look into my 👀 eyes, and you will see I am a gentle giant.
