✨🐾 Pupdate! 🐾✨
Our playful boy Linus came to Heritage Humane Society back in March. After 5 long months of waiting, he finally found his perfect match and is off on a brand-new adventure with a loving family! 💛
We will miss his silly antics around the shelter, but our hearts are full knowing he’s right where he belongs.

👁️ Meet Cairo, our wise and wonderful pup with his very own “third eye!” Some say it’s a lucky mark, others say it’s his secret superpower… we like to think he’s a little guru when it comes to love and cuddles. 💛
At 6 years old, Cairo is the perfect balance of playful and calm. He’s:
🐶 Dog-friendly (lived with a small dog!)
👦 Kid-tested (lived with kids ages 10–17)
🏡 Housebroken and well-mannered
🚗 Always ready for a car ride adventure
🤗 A cuddle master with a heart as big as his soulful eyes (all three of them 😉)

🐾 Hi friends, my name is King Charles and I had the best puppy adventure today!
🎙️ First stop — Williamsburg's Radio Station FM 93.5 The Burg & WMBG AM 740 for my big radio debut! I did great on my interview (even if I was a little quiet). After all that excitement, I took a nap and soaked up so many snuggles from the wonderful staff there before returning to The Heritage Humane Society.
🐾I got to meet Forky (from the Toy Story litter of puppies), who is also available for adoption at my shelter.
🐶 I even helped with some “very important” office work before meeting the kind family from The Sage Kitchen who brought treats for the humans. How sweet is that?
Even though all my siblings went home this weekend, I’m feeling extra special with all the love I’ve gotten. At just 8 lbs, being this cute is exhausting!

🐾 Meet Zeus – the total package of smarts, sweetness, and adventure! 🐾
This handsome boy is active, affectionate, and ready for a forever home. He loves long walks, hiking in the woods, and chasing after his beloved tennis ball 🎾. When playtime is over, Zeus is all about belly rubs, cheese snacks, and snoozing on the sofa.
✨ What makes Zeus extra special?
✅ Knows “sit” & “down” and is learning “stay”
✅ Great at fetch (he even knows “drop”!)
✅ Housebroken & crate trained
✅ Quiet and easy to live with

Zeus would thrive in a home with a fenced yard, where he can zoom out some energy before heading out on leash walks (he’s still polishing up his leash manners). He’s smart, eager to learn, and already making big progress!

Remember our adorable litter of puppies named after the Friends TV show characters? 💛 Well, Rachel — now Daisy 🌼 — had her adoption officially finalized today!
From her first days at the shelter to now snuggling in her forever home, Daisy is living her very best life. 🐶✨ We couldn’t be happier for her and her new family.
These updates remind us why we do what we do — thank you to everyone who adopts, fosters, donates, and shares our pets. Together, we make happy endings like Daisy’s possible. ❤️

🚨🐾 Puppy Alert! 🐾🚨
Six adorable hound puppies just arrived at The Heritage Humane Society yesterday — and our Animal Campers named them after some of our favorite Toy Story characters! 🧸✨ Meet Buzz Lightyear, Woody, Mr. Potato Head, Mrs. Potato Head, Lil Bo Peep, and Forky.
These cuties are 10–12 weeks old and have only ever known life outside in a pen. That means their forever families will need to go slow and help them learn the ropes of being happy, comfy indoor pups. 🐶💛
They’re available for “Foster to Adopt” starting today at noon — so you can open your heart and home right away while helping them adjust to their brand-new world.
