Hopper said I love my rescue family but I’d really love a family of my own. I’m a very sweet Velcro dog. I love toys and bones. I love to cuddle. I love food and will sing you the song of my people while you prepare my bowl. Don’t worry about the scar on my head. That’s just my battle scar proving I won when someone tried to kill me. I beat heartworms and I’m fully vetted.
Yes I’m dog friendly I can be rude because I love friends and don’t understand boundaries. I also don’t mind cats they are also friends at least I think so. I don’t know how to take a picture without laying down.

Welcome our newest intake. She’s 8 months old and was discarded like trash because she was chewing. Yes you read that correctly. You know cause that’s what puppies do until you train them to chew on the proper things. All it would’ve taken is positive reinforcement training and some Nylabones because she’s a pittie. So instead of training her properly you discarded her like trash as if she didn’t matter after you took the time to fully vet her. Why even bother getting a dog. Do everyone a favor and never get another type of animal again since they are so disposable to you.
Just so you know your kids are going to start teething soon are you going to discard them like trash too or because that’s a human life you created you could never. 🖕🏻 I said what I said if you don’t like it simply unfollow.

Anyway welcome (currently) Stella to Sunny Pits Rescue. Her name will be changing soon. New life new name!

Tuesday was an eventful day. We got lots of news we were not expecting on Loki. Loki has heartworms. He also has birdshot in his body from someone shooting at him. His bloodwork is terrible from the heartworms and Ehrlichia a tick borne disease. Plus the intestinal parasites not only does he have hookworms but also Giardia. He’s not even a year old and he already has heartworms. All of this could have been prevented.

As if his life wasn’t rough enough last year with his owner died and he was put into a very rural shelter. He sat there until we were contacted to come get the big boy. Loki is going to need a lot of vetting. A dog his size needing heartworm treatment is expensive. We also need help paying off his big bill from Tuesday with the neuter, his blood test, and all the medication he’s now on. He’s just going through it.

Today’s the big day Hopper and Loki are both headed to the vets office to be neutered and be microchipped. Hopper will officially be fully vetted after this! He has come such a long way after being shot in the head back in November of 2025.
Loki will begin all vetting today. Neutering, microchip, and shots.

Remi is looking for a new home. His parents have tried to give him the best life after a recent cancer diagnosis in the family while taking care of three kids. However they feel he’s not getting the love and attention he deserves. They have asked us to help find him a home that can give him everything they can’t give him while battling cancer. Being a true pittie that lives in Florida he does battle allergies. Currently has an outbreak. We don’t mind helping with the vetting to help get his skin better. As the family have been struggling to get it under control. Remi is a fantastic dog that is kid, dog, and cat friendly! He just wants to be a couch potato and curl up next to you.

While we are looking for a forever home if you can foster him please let us know. His family is truly upset to let him go but want what’s best for him.

Everyone meet Loki!! He is approximately 1 year old cane corso mix!
He absolutely adores all people of all ages, he gets along amazingly with all sized dogs. He is kennel trained and knows some basic commands.
He is still learning what a leash is and is very strong!
We would love to find a foster or foster to adopt for him. An active family or active person with knowledgeable of the breed would be preferred.

Would do best with no cats in the home. He doesn’t know what they are and listens to leave them alone.

When one life ends more begin in the dog world. We were contacted by a rescue in GA that needed help with bottle babies. The mom started killing the babies and then the owners fed the babies water for 3 days. Will they make it we don’t know but the best we can do is try.
Today we welcome 3 new lives into the rescue. We are hopeful all three will make it. Here’s to 3 new bottle babies in Sunny Pits Rescue. Everyone knows bottle babies aren’t cheap and will need a lot of extensive care and vetting. If you can help with this we would greatly appreciate it!

Today we said goodbye to our old man Blaz aka Sugar as the kids called him. He suddenly collapsed and couldn’t get back up. We knew taking him in we didn’t know how much time we would have with him. We didn’t think the time would be this short. We got 2 weeks with Blaz we tried everything to give him the best life but it’s still wasn’t long enough. Run free big man we love you. There’s a whole crew up there for you. Rest easy big man we didn’t have enough time with you.

Big boy is finally up to 95lbs! He was 77lbs just a few weeks ago. He has chronic dry eye that is a lifelong issue. He has a UTI, ear infection, and parasites. He also has severe arthritis we have started him on joint supplements and Librela injections. Those are monthly injections to help his arthritis.

Blaz’s bill was over $1000 Wednesday and the additional medication for a dog that big adds on hundreds more. He will need rechecks in the future. If you can help with his medical bills we would really appreciate it.

Blaz is enjoying senior life the way it’s meant to be spoiled and comfortable. He gets three meals a day. He’s slowly gaining his strength back. He’s super sweet and loves the kids he lives with. He’s a true old man just soaking in life and love. We’re so happy to have been able to pull him. Senior pets need love too and a place to rest their old bones. We dont know how much time we have with him but were giving him everything we got.
Blaz will be going to be the vet this week to get bloodwork and get his ear infection taken care of. His eye sight is also impaired. We’ve already started him on joint supplements for his arthritis. If you can help with his medical expenses we would greatly appreciate it!
