Happy Memorial Day Weekend!! 🥳

With the warmer weather approaching quickly, as well as entering kitten season, on top of making repairs, we have updated our amazon wish list with all of the items we are currently in need of at Hickory! ☀️ We have been taking in multiple cats recently, which comes with lots of vet bills, so we are asking for donations to help with the cost of things we use daily at the rescue. Any amount and any item donation helps us as well as the animals!

Happy Adoption Day Felix!!

When we took Felix in a couple months ago you could tell the poor guy had never recieved any vet care and you could tell from his appearance he had definitely not had the easiet life so far. We made sure to get Felix healthy and despite everything he had been thru, he was always the biggest lover boy. We are so happy this sweet boy gets to go to a home where he can receive all the love and cuddles he deserves! ❤️

‼️ FOUND MALE CAT‼️

This guy showed up at Hickory a little over a week ago. We did have to catch him in a live trap. He’s unaltered and definitely scared but not aggresive at all. Really hoping he just got too far from home!

HICKORY CATS THAT NEED ADOPTED!!!😍

Daily we are receiving calls and messages of numerous cats that need saving or owner surrenders of cats. We have had so many intakes and luckily our partnering shelter has helped us transport so many cats and kittens out to where they have been adopted but we are still having cat intakes back to back! Here are some photos of some of our sweet cats that need a place to call home!

Also we are always needing wet cat food/ treats and other items such as towels, blankets, cat beds and cat trees! Those items can be used as well as long as they aren't in to rough of shape! Thank you again!

‼️ HELP NEEDED FOR HIGH VET BILLS‼️

Otis is one of few medical cases the last couple weeks, he was picked up as a stray with a  severe infection on his tail due to previous trauma. Despite trying to save his tail it ended up needing to be amputated. Otis is now healing great but it has definitely come at a cost.

Our dog rue ended up having to go to the vet where she was also diagnosed with a collapsed lung and fluid surrounding her chest and heart. She’s currently on medication now and will be needing to return to the vet for updated images in hopes that her lung re- inflates and the fluid drains.

We always make sure any animal in our care is always receiving any medical care needed and this comes at a huge cost because we have so many animals to care for and so many of those animals we take in weren’t receiving any of that medical care.

Otis and Rue are still up for adoption! We would love to see them in a home.

Meet Ambrose!!! ⭐️

Ambrose came to us from another shelter where he wasn’t getting adopted. We were hoping Ambrose would adapt to Hickory but unfortunately it’s been a month and he isn’t aggresive with the other cats but doesn’t seem to fond of them. At Hickory majority of the cats are not caged and free roam the rooms. We think if he was in a home he could even do well with one or two cats.

He’s very loving with humans and sometimes has a wild side where he will sometimes go for our feet, but it’s mainly just playful! He loves toys as well and treats! Right now Ambrose is having to stay in a confined space and we can see he’s slowly becoming more sad most days. We urgently want to get Ambrose in a home!
