Fourth will be planted trees with dedication tags!! In order to create a true walking trail we will need to cut down some small trees and saplings along with over growth. The current path only leads to the back of the property and we are going to work on a path for the fur friends to really get their smells in and some energy out. The original owner of the home worked hard alongside his loved ones to keep this small forest thriving and we do not want to disturb it too much which is why we plan on replacing any larger chunks of area with these newly planted trees. Everything we plant will be indigenous to the area. We will be working with locals to eventually pull the invasive plants out and replace those with plants that will thrive in the area and help keep the invasive plants from returning. We forgot to post yesterday!! But we are making progress with getting that forever home!!

Third of the eight ways to help our fundraiser is donating towards our fosters! We would be grateful for any sponsorship of our current Foster Dog Layla from as she is LOVELY but has some learning to do that we are working through. We are persistent and will make sure Layla gets the care and safe space she deserves to thrive before we start looking for her forever family. The journey to get there is going to be a bit harder than usual.
Here is a quote from Jordan of Rebel Dogs Detroit “Layla was a scared shut down “Feral” German Shepherd that I caught last November! This is her first Foster home after months and months learning that she was safe. This is why we do it. This is why we give every dog a chance. Layla would have been euthanized immediately in any normal shelter.” Check out rebeldogsdetroit.com to learn more about their rescue!

Although Rebel Dogs provides everything fosters need, we are always looking for donations to lift a fraction of their costs. The Fur Ball Team provides all food, treats, toys, stimulation games, training, vet visit transportation and of course slow introductions to the world. We do not ask the rescue to cover anything except for the medical bills and we would like to donate towards those things directly to the rescue. Layla is up to date on her vaccinations but still needs her spay, microchip and we hope to pay her adoption fee for who ever rescues this sweet girl. Her current spay is scheduled January 8th, wish her luck! We plan on working with Layla for a few months to come as we only just picked her up the day before we submitted an offer on this forever home. She has been along for quite the journey.

We have two of the three donations so far to help us continue to partner as a foster!! Yay!!

P**p happens!
The team has 7 more ways you can donate to our forever fur ball home! Yesterday, for the first day we shared our plans for a memory trail!

Second is a pet waste station! These are always critical to keeping a space safe and clear of p**ps and small trash. So many of our fur friends will utilize the space for a potty break and so we want to incorporate waste stations right away. Each waste station will be on a pole, equipped with a p**p bag dispenser, a trash bin and a sign on it for dedication. The dedication can be from a family (example: “5 out of 5 stars would p**p here again, The Grace Family”), or a business (example: “Enjoy all the smells! -Wagging Good Dog Training”), or a dedication to a pet or a loved one or an organization. We will need three of these stations, two along the walking path and one in the fur friend fenced area.

Our current timeline for projects:

Start moving in December 1st. Ashley and Cody officially close on the property this date!

Ask for volunteers to help move December 6th and 7th!

Quick break from projects December 13th 2-4pm at Pet Supplies Plus on Main St for Grinch photos!

Fur Ball Fence all set up by December 14th hopefully…

Ugly Sweater Party December 20th. Celebrate with the Fur Ball Team! We will be fundraising at the party too and you will get a chance to see our new forever home!!!!!
