Memorial Day is the designated day to recognize and give appreciation to the men and women who have paid the ultimate price by enlisting in the US Armed Services for the betterment of the United States of America.

Our dearly loved neighbor Butch Shupert is very much alive and we would like to recognize his service in the US Army and the sacrifice of those he served with.

Small Business Saturday! Today we’d like to promote Minuteman Tree Service LLC. Jack and his team are professional, knowledgeable, and most importantly highly recommended by the local community due to their stellar reputation. When asked they promptly provided their Independent Contractor Exemption Certificate with the state of Montana Department of Labor & Industry as well as their Certificate of Liability Insurance.

Luck & Grit requested several areas evaluated in order to be proactive against the possibility of dead or dying tree's falling on fencing, structures, and/or livestock. They were flexible with our desired schedule and the estimate was aligned with our financial budget. While working on our forested lot Jack & co were considerate of the horses and staff safety. They completed the area in a timely manner with little disruption to our work day.

We will definitely be calling Minuteman Tree Service for any and all tree related jobs on property. Jack goes above and beyond for his customers!

FAQ Friday! "How do you keep trough water for the horses clean?"

An old farmer's trick is to use goldfish! The goldfish control summer algae growth caused by high sun exposure, livestock saliva, dust and debris, and warm water temperatures. Some algae types contain cyanobacteria that can cause illness in livestock. Goldfish also eat mosquito larva (predominantly laid in slow-moving water) as their food source, which is fantastic as mosquitoes case severe skin irritation and transmit diseases like West Nile virus, Eastern Equine Encephalitis, and Rift Valley Fever.
