🌭🐾 Dog of the Week: Meet Mango! 🐾🌭

Talk about a frankly adorable Halloween costume! 🎃 This hot dog may be dressed for trick-or-treating, but what Mango really wants is a forever home!

Nearly 6 years old, Mango came to Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh (HARP) as a stray, so not much is known about his past. What we do know? He's a sweet, well-mannered guy who loves peanut butter, enjoys putting his nose to work on scent courses, and is sure to bring plenty of joy to the lucky person who welcomes him home. 💛

Mango is currently receiving treatment for a medical condition and needs to take it easy on exercise for now. He'll also appreciate some extra TLC as he completes his treatments, but he's still an absolute delight who deserves a family cheering him on every step of the way. While he has shown interest in other dogs, HARP is still learning more about how he might do with canine or feline housemates.

This Halloween, you don't need to wait for a trick-or-treat surprise to find something sweet. Mango is ready to be your favorite treat all year long! 🍬❤️

Ready to meet this sweet hot dog? Visit Mango at HARP's East End location. Link in the comments 👇

🐾 Pet of the Week: Meet Seven! 🐾

Meet Seven, a nearly 2-year-old pup whose sweet spirit shines through no matter what life throws his way. Seven first came to Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh (HARP) as a stray and recently found himself back in their care when his adopter could no longer care for him. Now, he's ready for another chance at the happy ending he deserves!

When Seven returned to HARP, he was underweight and had some wounds, but none of that dimmed his light. Through it all, he's remained an incredibly sweet boy who loves treats, enjoys pets, and happily leans into people for gentle affection. There's something special about a dog who seeks comfort and connection, and Seven has plenty of love to give.

Seven also enjoys spending time with canine companions, especially female dogs he clicks with. With the right match, he could make a wonderful addition to a loving home.

If you've experienced a few unexpected detours yourself, maybe you and Seven have something in common. He's ready to leave the setbacks behind and start his next chapter with a family who will love him through it all. Ready to meet your kindred spirit? Seven is waiting for you at HARP's East End location. Link in the comments 👇

🐾 Pet of the Week: Meet Veruca Salt! 🐾

🎶 Come with me, and you’ll be in a world of pure… puppy love! 💕

At 8 years old, Veruca Salt is proving that her name may belong in a chocolate factory, but her heart belongs in a loving home! This sweet girl came to Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh (HARP) as a stray, so while not much is known about her past, they’ve quickly learned that she’s goofy, gentle, and always ready to make a new friend.

Veruca loves a good cuddle and will happily lean into your legs for pets. She’d also make a wonderful work-from-home buddy, content to nap nearby or enjoy a bone while you tackle your to-do list. And while we can’t promise how she feels about cats or Oompa Loompas, she seems to enjoy the company of other dogs!

Veruca is ready for her golden-ticket moment: finding a family to love her forever. Could this sweet senior be the perfect addition to your home? Learn more about Veruca Salt with the link in the comments!

🐾 Pet of the Week: Meet Penumbra! 🐾

Don’t look directly at him, you might be blinded by cuteness! Meet Penumbra, a little shadow of an eclipse with a personality that shines bright.

This energetic pup came to Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh (HARP) as a stray, so not much is known about his past. But one thing is clear: Penumbra is ready for a bright future with a family who will be patient as he learns his manners and grows into his best self. And if you want to know just how happy Penumbra is to see you, just look at his whole body! This boy’s entire wiggle says it all. 💕🐶

Penumbra has also done well with other dogs while in HARP’s care, so if you already have a canine companion at home, bring them along for a meet-and-greet at HARP! Could Penumbra be the bright spot your family has been looking for? ☀️ Learn more about Penumbra through the link below.

Big plays. Big heart. Big dogs. 🐶🏈

We’re pumped to team up with Steelers' Center Zach Frazier for a partnership that brings together two things we love: making a difference and making tails wag.

From making an impact on the field to making a difference off of it, Zach is helping shine a light on the importance of supporting our four-legged friends and the organizations that work tirelessly to give them the care and love they deserve.

We’re excited to have Zach in our corner as we work together to create an impact both on and off the field. One play, one pup, and one community at a time.

Stay tuned for more to come!
