September 11th – We Remember 🕊️

Today, we pause to honor the lives lost, the heroes who selflessly served, and the strength of a nation united. Our hearts are with those who were affected by the events of 9/11, and we will never forget the bravery, resilience, and compassion shown on that day and in the days that followed.

At Safe Haven, we extend our deepest gratitude to the first responders, including the service dogs who played a crucial role in the rescue efforts. They remind us of the incredible bond we share with our animal companions, even in the darkest of times.

🕊️We remember. We honor. We stand together.🕊️

Did you know acupuncture can help your pet feel better naturally? 🌿 At Safe Haven Veterinary Hospital, our acupuncture service promotes healing and balance in your pet’s body. 🐾

But what exactly is acupuncture? It’s a form of traditional Chinese medicine that uses tiny needles to stimulate specific points on the body. This helps improve blood flow, reduce pain, and support overall well-being. Whether your pet suffers from chronic pain, arthritis, or even anxiety, acupuncture may provide the relief they need!

Want to learn more about how acupuncture could benefit your pet? Visit our website safehavenpethospital.com/acupuncture/ or call us at (724) 591-8393 to schedule a consultation. 💙

🚨 WARNING: Retractable Leashes May Pose a Hidden Danger to Your Pet! 🚨

While retractable leashes might seem convenient, they can be a severe safety hazard. These leashes can:
🔸 Cause Injury – Sudden stops can lead to neck injuries for your pet and painful rope burns for you.
🔸 Limit Control – With a long leash, you may have less control in traffic or crowded areas, putting your pet at risk.
🔸 Entangle Easily – The thin cord can wrap around your or your pet's legs, causing cuts, burns, or even more severe injuries such as amputations.
🔸 Snap Under Pressure – If your pet suddenly bolts, the thin cord can break, leaving your pet vulnerable and free to run into danger.

💡 For a safer walk, consider using a traditional, non-retractable leash. Your pet's safety is in your hands!

🌊 Pool Safety Tips for Pets 🐾

Summer fun in the sun means pool time! Keep your furry friends safe with these essential tips:

1. Supervise at All Times 👀: Never leave your pet unattended around the pool.
2. Teach Them to Swim 🏊: Not all pets are natural swimmers. Introduce them to the water gradually.
3. Provide a Way Out 🛟: Ensure there’s a ramp/steps your pet can use to get out of the pool.
4. Fresh Water Supply 💧: Keep a bowl of fresh water nearby to prevent them from drinking pool water.
5. Pet Life Jackets 🦺: Consider a life jacket for extra safety, especially for small or senior pets.
6. Rinse After Swim 🚿: Chlorine and other chemicals can irritate their skin. Rinse your pet off after swimming.

Keep your pets safe and happy this summer! 🐶🐱☀️
