As Colorado Gives Day is approaching, we’re taking a look back at where it all began! Founded in 2007 as primarily a disaster relief effort, the Bow Wow Buddies Foundation got its start by aiding victims of natural disasters and funding dog-focused initiatives, such as canine cancer research. It has since grown into a nationwide grant program helping thousands of family and rescue dogs in need. Petunia unexpectedly became paralyzed and was diagnosed with Intervertebral Disc Disease. After an emergency surgery, she began to recover and has since regained her ability to walk! A grant from the Bow Wow Buddies Foundation meant that Petunia could get the care she needed to improve her quality of life. Gator was found with broken multiple legs after being hit by a car. His vet reached out to Apollo Support and Rescue, who were able to secure a grant from the Bow Wow Buddies Foundation to cover his amputation. He has since made a full recovery and has been adopted! 💛 Grants like these ease financial strain on rescues and shelters so they can focus on what matters most — helping pups heal and find their forever homes. By her first birthday, Noveske had lost all of her vision due to detached retinas and cataracts in both eyes. After confirming Noveske needed major surgery, her mom applied for a medical grant and the Bow Wow Buddies Foundation was happy to assist. Since receiving her surgery, her mom is happy to report that Noveske is back to her playful self!
