Back by popular demand, Marco Giavoni will be hosting an agility seminar on August 23-24, 2025 at Pinnacle Dog Sports. Marco is a World Team member in multiple countries and has been competing in agility for over 30 years! He moved from Italy to the US (Michigan) in 2017 where he coaches and trains. He and his Sheltie BET will represent the USA this September at the FCI Agility World Championships in Sweden. Come enjoy the practice time with your dog and let Marco help you advance your skills! Saturday, August 23, 2025 Skills and Drills : 9:00am – 1:00pm
This session is for teams looking to improve their skills and handling on short sequences. Find new ways to train and proof your skills for better understanding from your dog and for more precise handling from you! We will work on backsides, threadles, challenging weave entries, obstacle discrimination. All equipment may be used, but jump/tunnel sequences can be switched in for younger dogs.
Saturday, August 23, 2025 Masters Coursework (with Premier & International elements) : 1:30pm – 5:30pm
Put the skills you learned from the AM morning session to the test! This seminar will focus on timing and ex*****on of handling for AKC masters courses with Premier & International elements. Marco will cover common course trends that are seen today! This session is for teams that are familiar with backsides, threadles, challenging weave entries and obstacle independence. All obstacles could be used.
Sunday, August 24, 2025 Beginner Competition (Open level up to Excellent level) : 9:00am – 1:00pm
You will learn the best ways to handle courses, connect and set lines for your dog and improve your overall teamwork. Handling challenges such as front crosses and blind crosses will be presented, in addition to dog challenges such as forward focus, obstacle commitment. This seminar will be ideal for teams currently competing and/or training on full courses. All equipment may be used in this session.
Sunday, August 24, 2025 Young Dog (Novice level) : 1:30pm – 5:30pm
Foundational Skills for New Teams and Young Dogs. Build confidence in your young dog by setting him/her up for success. This seminar is all about building foundation skills needed in agility today and putting short sequences together to challenge your dog’s foundation. Work on creating a solid partnership with your dog on course. All equipment may be used, but jump/tunnel sequences can be switched in for younger dogs.
