BEAGLES' RESCUES EXPLAIN FUTURE OF RIDGLAN FARMS AND REMAINING DOGS
Here's answers about the deal that Center for a Humane Economy and Big Dog Ranch Rescue made to secure the release of 1500 beagles from Ridglan Farms.
Why did we buy the dogs?
Center for a Humane Economy first sought to negotiate with Ridglan Farms several months ago. Following the plea agreement with the District Attorney, Ridglan Farms could have legally sold any one of those dogs to a research facility or elsewhere. Our team rightly decided that entering negotiations to purchase the dogs was the most expedient way to attain their freedom. Because of the deal that was made with Ridglan, 1500 dogs are now set to be legally and safely turned over to our organizations.
Why only 1500 dogs and not all the dogs? What about the remaining 500 or understood to be still at the facility?
We are not forgetting about these dogs, but Ridglan Farms was not prepared to sell them at this time. Negotiations will continue with the goal of the remaining dogs joining the others in having a new life full of love and happiness.

When are the dogs leaving Ridglan?
Big Dog Ranch Rescue began removing the first of their allocated dogs today, with the rest to follow next week.
Beginning the following week, Center for a Humane Economy is responsible for removing their dogs from Ridglan Farms. Our team consists of the Center for a Humane Economy, Beagle Freedom Project, Dane County Humane Society, Wisconsin Puppy Mill Project, Inc, and the Wisconsin Federated Humane Societies who will facilitate the transition for us.
This is a massive project and all of the organizations involved deserve support in any possible way.
