Lenny has been living in a home with another small chihuahua and a cat since June 2025 in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Everything has been fine until this past weekend when he attacked the chihuahua in the eyeball. It happened outside so we are unsure what caused it. They do play together all the time but since the attack the small dog does not go near him. He did attack another small dog that was trying to jump in his face and play but he was not having it. Owner was standing close by so it could have been territorial. Lenny lived from birth until June 2025 as a single animal in a home with one human who stayed home all day. I do feel like he adjusted well considering what he went through.
We have not had him evaluated or had any training since being in his new home. He loves to sleep under the covers in the bed. He is left out during the day without being in the kennel. He is house trained. Sits for treats. He loves to play tug of war. He truly is a great dog who loves to cuddle. He does really well during bath time. He loves to play with his toys and I have noticed he is territorial of certain toys or bones. He is on a daily allergy pill because he seems to be allergic to a lot of different things. He is not a fan of getting his nails clipped.
At this time, the current owner is willing to keep him until a home is found. Unless he attacks the chihuahua again then he will need to be rehomed immediately. The current owner is also willing to drive him to a new location depending on how far from Lake Charles, Louisiana.
