Today took a very different turn than I could have ever imagined and I’m sharing today’s experience to bring awareness. THIS is animal abuse. This is a year and a half of neglect. It’s not enough to just love an animal. Grooming is a necessity, it’s a bare minimum when caring for a dog with hair that grows like this, especially these doodles.

I spent 5 1/2 hours working on this beautiful girl, giving her relief that she hasn’t felt in well over a year. She was somewhere between 1.5-2yrs old and had never gotten a haircut prior to today. Her dad saved her through a Facebook marketplace ad on Saturday and called me Sunday morning desperate for help.

Nearly all of you are very good about keeping to a regular schedule, more frequently when you don’t have time to brush in between, I just wanted to post this as a reminder. When I tell you I’m a stickler and require a 6/8 week schedule to be kept to stay on my schedule, this is why. We all know I love to keep pups fluffy and full of personality.

This sweet girl will start to grow out and get there soon! I’ll post an update at her next groom. I’m so happy to know she’s finally in a safe, loving home. ♥️

Two posts in one day, simply because I absolutely love my job. There’s truly nothing better than waking up and spending every day loving on your pups, making them feel safe and sending them home with a whole new personality and a fabulous new look ✨

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!! 🐰💛

Spring is filling up quickly, and I wanted to share a few updates for Mel’s Grooming as we head into the busy season 🌷

Now that it’s finally warming up, I’ll be slowly transitioning back to my regular schedule:
• Monday–Thursday: 8am–4pm
• Sunday: 10am–4pm

As a reminder, the fastest and most reliable way to book or reschedule is through my online booking system. It’s always up to date with my availability, so if you don’t see a time listed, it means that spot is already filled. The waitlist is a great option though—if anything opens up, you’ll receive a text and email right away!

I do have a separate business phone, and outside of business hours I’m not always able to check messages. During the day, I’m fully hands-on grooming and focused on creating a calm, safe, and low-stress environment for each pup 🐶

Over Easter weekend, I received quite a few booking texts (including some on Easter Day!), and while I truly appreciate every single one, I do feel bad when I can’t respond right away. Time with my family is so important to me, and I’m just trying to find the best way to cut down that waiting time for you as much as possible 🫶🏻

First full week back from vacation and Mel’s Grooming is in full swing getting these pups all ready for spring! 🌸☀️

Just a friendly reminder, Sunday is the MOST highly requested day, I’m only one person and they fill up so so fast. Right now, they’re full through the first Sunday in May. Please do your best to reschedule with me at pickup or secure a slot online very soon after you pickup for your next visit, if a Sunday is a must have. Spots are very limited.
