•I am currently only accepting dogs up to 35 lbs that can safely step onto my low-rise grooming table and into my low-rise tub independently.
• For dogs that cannot step up on their own, my current weight limit is 15 lbs.

Road Construction Notice 🚧

As many of you know, N East Street is currently closed for construction between SR 32 and Sycamore Street.

Please allow yourself extra travel time when coming to your appointment. A detour is available:

➡️ Turn north on N Cherry Street
➡️ Turn right on E North Street
➡️ Turn left on N East Street
➡️ Turn right on Birch Street
➡️ Follow Birch Street to the end where you’ll find Mel’s Grooming

While I completely understand that construction and traffic can be frustrating, repeated late arrivals make it very difficult for me to stay on schedule. Because I operate one-on-one and schedule appointments throughout the day, even being 10–15 minutes late can create a ripple effect that impacts every client after you. (I get to my last dog and I’m about an hour behind). This is now becoming a daily situation and I’ve been incredibly understanding.

Beginning Monday, June 22nd 2026, I can only allot a 5 minute window, past that window, you’ll be subject to a late fee or possible cancellation. This will ensure I can maintain my one-on-one service’s.

Please plan ahead and leave a little extra time for your drive while the construction is ongoing.

Today took a very different turn than I could have ever imagined and I’m sharing today’s experience to bring awareness. THIS is animal abuse. This is a year and a half of neglect. It’s not enough to just love an animal. Grooming is a necessity, it’s a bare minimum when caring for a dog with hair that grows like this, especially these doodles.

I spent 5 1/2 hours working on this beautiful girl, giving her relief that she hasn’t felt in well over a year. She was somewhere between 1.5-2yrs old and had never gotten a haircut prior to today. Her dad saved her through a Facebook marketplace ad on Saturday and called me Sunday morning desperate for help.

Nearly all of you are very good about keeping to a regular schedule, more frequently when you don’t have time to brush in between, I just wanted to post this as a reminder. When I tell you I’m a stickler and require a 6/8 week schedule to be kept to stay on my schedule, this is why. We all know I love to keep pups fluffy and full of personality.

This sweet girl will start to grow out and get there soon! I’ll post an update at her next groom. I’m so happy to know she’s finally in a safe, loving home. ♥️
