Slinky staying cool in the heat this weekend! Here are some important reminders to keep your pets cool in the heat:

1. Make sure your pet has access to plenty of fresh drinking water
2. Know the symptoms of overheating in petsā€”excessive panting, difficulty breathing, drooling, mild weakness, diarrhea and vomiting, and elevated body temperaturesā€”seek veterinary care if your pet exhibits any of these symptoms
3. Remember pets with flat faces can be more susceptible to heat stroke
4. Never leave your pet alone in a parked vehicle, even with the windows open
5. Don't let your dogs linger on hot pavementā€”sensitive paw pads can burn and body temperature can raiseā€”limit walks during periods of high heat
