Tumbleweed Cat Rescue

Tumbleweed Cat Rescue Tumbleweed Cat Rescue is an all-volunteer, foster-based rescue in Tri-Cities, WA. *No public intakes* Getting cats out of small kennels and into foster homes 3.

*No public intakes, only transfers from rescues and shelters*
TCR intakes cats and kittens from animal control agencies in order to promote:
1. Local jurisdictions collecting accurate data on cat overpopulation
2. Animal Control Officers and local Authorities handling cases of animal neglect and data on the individuals and neighborhoods habitually having stray and unwanted animal overpopulation

/repopulation. Promoting these ideals can increase the burden on animal control agencies and shelters, however we believe this is the best way to gain leadership awareness of local animal issues and gain support for an increase in support to those agencies. We prioritize intaking the young, sick, injured, and/or longest residents from the shelter. Murdoch spent 10 months in our care being loved on by his foster family, all the while losing weight and struggling with multiple health issues. He was a huge snuggler with a loud purr and lots of biscuits made. When we took him in, we had been contacted by a shelter requesting our help with a blind senior feral so we figured he could join the pair of ferals we had at that time. He was thin though so we brought him to the vet for bloodwork and when we found out he had kidney disease, moved him out of the shop and into a bedroom. He started to trust us and snuggle, and loved treats and not acting particularly feral. We suspect that he became blind somewhat recently before he was found as a confused stray, and was still adjusting - which looked a lot like "feral" hissing.

He was blind and had kidney disease, a chronic respiratory infection (likely caused by a mass), constipation, and in the last week his symptoms progressed to possible seizures, visible swelling/changes of his face, and vomiting. Today we said goodbye - he is no longer suffering. He was very loved and spoiled. Thank you to our supporters that helped us cover vet care and specialty foods for him. We couldn't help cats like Murdoch without you.

Francis had her recheck and is healing well from her hernia repairs. She is now available for adoption! She's a super sweet and snuggly, and sometimes feisty and fun teenage kitten! She would love a cat and/or dog friend to run zoomies with too.

Good news for Klingon! They found a polyp and were able to remove it, and perform his neuter today. All three of the removed bits were similar in size - the vet showed us a pic but we will spare you πŸ˜¬πŸ˜‚. Klingon's breathing already sounds sooo much better! And this means he is ready for adoption 😻😻😻. He is a snuggly, playful, adorable, cat and dog-friendly, quite small, ~9 month old.

He also has megaesophagus so he will need to continue eating at his special table, getting twice daily meds, and will have occasional regurgitations. This may improve slightly with the polyp removal too, but unknown.

According to VCA, "Nasopharyngeal polyps in cats are benign, fleshy growths originating from the middle ear or Eustachian tube. They are most common in kittens and young cats. By blocking air passages or the ear canal, they cause loud breathing, nasal discharge, head shaking, or balance issues."

His total came to $2867, and we rely on donations to cover our bills:
