Happy International Day of Veterinary Medicine! 🐾

Today we’re celebrating our incredible veterinarian, Dr. Henriksen, who works each day to keep our community’s pets healthy, happy, and thriving. As a primary care clinic, she provides everything from wellness visits and preventive care to diagnostics and senior support. Our clinic will always strive to help with kindness, patience, and a genuine love for ALL the animals we serve. ❤️

We also want to take a moment to honor veterinary professionals around the world. From clinic vets to specialists, researchers, technicians, support staff, wildlife vets, and public health teams - veterinary medicine makes a global difference every single day. 🌎

Happy Meme Monday!

Did you know that heartworm disease is a risk in Washington state, even though we don’t see it as commonly as in hotter, humid regions? Cases still occur here, especially in pets that travel, adopted pets from other states, and even right in our local communities.

Heartworms are spread by mosquitoes, and once a pet is infected, treatment can be costly, difficult, and dangerous. The good news? Prevention is safe and simple!

At our clinic, we recommend:
- Year-round heartworm prevention for dogs
- Annual heartworm testing to ensure your pet stays protected
- Talking with us about prevention before traveling out of state with your pet

A tiny bite from a mosquito is all it takes — but one small monthly dose can keep your pet safe all year long. ❤️

If you need to refill your prevention, schedule a test, or aren’t sure what your pet needs, give us a call!

It’s getting chilly out there! ❄️
As the temperatures start to drop, don’t forget that our pets feel the cold too!

Here are a few quick reminders to keep your furry friends cozy and safe this season:
- Keep outdoor time short for pets sensitive to cold
- Provide warm, dry bedding, especially for senior pets
- Make sure water bowls don’t freeze
- Tap your hood before starting the car—outdoor cats may seek warmth
- Watch for signs of cold stress like shivering, slowing down, or lifting paws

Let’s keep our pets warm, comfortable, and healthy all winter long! ❤️🐾

Let's celebrate by playing a game! This is Billy; he belongs to one of our staff members. Billy had his DNA tested by the Royal Canin Canine Genetic Health Analysis Kit, and we want YOU to guess his breed!
Comment your guess in the comments below. The closest guess will win a prize!👏

EDIT: Although we appreciate all those offering to help volunteer, we would first need a doctor to become employed with our center before we ask for the additional staff needed.

We hate to be the bearers of bad news, but we have some sad news to share. 😔

For the time being, we will no longer be holding our monthly vaccine clinic. Due to limited staffing, we are unable to continue the program. We hope to reopen the clinic in the future, but for now it will be discontinued.

We know this may be disappointing to many of our clients, and we sincerely apologize.
Please remember that keeping your pets vaccinated is still incredibly important. We encourage you to continue scheduling wellness exams or keep an eye out for other vaccine clinics in the area to help protect your pets, and others, from preventable diseases. ❤️‍🩹
