Furgiven Animal Sanctuary (“FAS”) is a nonprofit, no-kill organization that is dedicated to creating second, second-chance opportunities for overlooked dogs. Our focus lies in partnering with public shelters to prevent the euthanasia of dogs and local no-kill shelters by transitioning their long-term, left-behind dogs to a sanctuary where they can be a priority regardless of age, breed, or ease of

placement. At FAS, we believe that providing a more intimate, individual atmosphere for dogs in these specific circumstances increases their chances of finding forever homes while promoting the animal-human bond within our community of the Greater Midsouth & Tri-State area. In addition to being a sanctuary for dogs overlooked, FAS assists (through scheduled events) with free or discounted veterinary services, low-cost spay/neuter clinics, and training support services for current or future pet owners and advocates. Our comprehensive adoption process and support services promote thoughtful, healthy relationships among animals and adopters and offer lifetime support to our residents. Animals in our care are spayed/neutered and receive all necessary treatments, vaccinations, and veterinary care for the duration of their time with us, regardless of adoption status.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news that our sweet, spunky resident Dash has passed away. His passing was sudden, and unexpected for our team.

Dash was exceptionally loved during his time with us, and had a completely normal morning yesterday, playing, eating, and zooming around like his usual self. After lunch, he laid down for a nap in his favourite grassy spot and never woke up. We found him in his forever sleep shortly afterwards and though we didn’t know his time would come so soon, we are grateful he experienced such a peaceful passing.

We have opted for a private cremation of his remains, so that he can continue to be honoured. Contributions to his final resting costs can be sent via any of our donation channels.

Thank you for loving this little guy alongside us as much as we have, and for supporting our team as we process this loss.

Rest easy Dashy, you will be sorely missed 🐾🌈

Dash and his cutie-patootie face wish you a fantastic day. He is settling into Furgiven beautifully and we have especially been adoring the way he taps his feet in excitement when treats come out 🐾

Dash’s medical and care fundraiser is in full swing. He is paralyzed in his hind end and in need of a new harness for his wheels. He also needs a trip to the vet, to be neutered, and lots of physical therapy.
