I am so happy to announce I will now be training full time at Pooch At Play.
We are currently offering a day training program but keep an eye out for private lessons and group classes!

If you already have a current contract with me, sessions will continue as normal! Otherwise, if you are interested in getting your pup in with me, head over to the post and fill out the registration form.

I look forward to the big things coming!

Some loose leash and direction work this morning has Serena napping her mid morning away.

Follow Pooch At Play. Not only for the pictures of all our cute friends, but big things may be coming for them and us here at Darling Dogs!

Serena’s request to the National Weather Service for a temperature plummet has been approved. She is pleased. 🤣

Me - brings long line so Serena can explore

Serena - glued to my side because im absolutely her highest value reward 😂

Had some time in the woods today.

Even though we were the only ones there (and usually are), Serena stays on a long line.

Why?

- she’s a flight risk and easily spooked (a leaf touched her foot today without realizing it and she leapt 2 feet in the air 😂)
- if she had her way off leash, she probably wouldn’t leave the vehicle because she’s determined not to be a country girl

During our hikes, she checks in a lot with me for assurance to move forward. If she’s unsure, she lets me lead the way.

Building confidence takes time, this is actually the longest she’s been on trail and our fourth attempt with this specific trail.

She said “I’m a city girl. Get me out of here”

Progress isn’t linear.
Will Serena’s next “take” be as enthusiastic and perfect? Maybe not.
Does that mean we get discouraged and stop? Absolutely not.
Foundation builds SOLID success with all behaviors.
