Happy Labor Day Monday! This week we had several cats and kittens go home, including our beloved Baby! We also had Jetson & Astro, and Mocha go home, and Ginger, Tyler, and Skittles & Hershey are on deposit. New this week are Capone and Pepper, as well as many more kittens.

Handsome Capone has been with us for several months as he came to us with a wound of unknown origin as a feral cat and needed to be placed on a four month quarantine. During this time, he decided that people aren’t so bad and he is now a friendly, comfortable guy with the most beautiful blue eyes. He would do well in a lot of different types of homes, including with older, respectful children, other cats, and perhaps with a friendly dog.

Pepper is a lovely, petite young girl who is new this week. She came to us via a hoarding situation, so she is used to other cats, but she may enjoy being the only cat so she can be spoiled the way she deserves! She is shy and quiet but very sweet and loving.

We also have a group of five female kittens that have been in foster for a few months getting friendly and comfortable with people, and they are almost ready to find their forever homes, just waiting on some space to open up and to get checked out by our vet! They are all named after nuts, so their names are Macadamia, Pecan, Walnut, Pistachio, and Hazelnut. They’re beautiful girls who would love to be adopted in pairs or to go to a home with another friendly cat or kitten, just like any of our other kittens! Walnut and Macadamia are almost identical sisters and need to be adopted together as they are very bonded to one another.

Come down to meet all these wonderful cats and kittens looking for their forever homes, and hopefully you’ll find a purrfect match! We have open hours on Tuesday and Wednesday from 4-7 and Saturday from 10-1!

Sharing again because we have trapped 18 cats with 12 coming in to our shelter for fostering since Saturday from ONE location!! We still have 9 left to trap! We also have active trapping going on at other locations, but this one location is a doozy.

Do you know that we help with getting stray cats trapped, neutered, and returned (TNR)? We get numerous calls every day about stray cats that need our help. We can intake friendly cats into our shelter, but for feral cats, we help the finders to get them trapped, fixed and return them so they don’t keep multiplying and can live a happy life! Intact cats not only have more babies but are also at risk for many medical conditions. The graphic below shows how a cat population that is not neutered or spayed can get out of control and grow very quickly!

WE NEED YOUR HELP to raise the funds to help these community cats get spayed and neutered and to purchase more traps to aid them. Unfortunately, we do not have enough traps as most of our current traps are broken or are not returned when they are borrowed! Every dollar counts to help us help our community!!

The link below is to buy the traps directly from the manufacturer (TruCatch) that we use. This kind is gentler for the cats and easier for our trappers and volunteers! Havahart traps are not the most ideal for trapping any animal and can cause injury, so we do prefer to use these for the benefit of the animals!

Happy Monday! This week we have no one on deposit, but we have SO MANY kittens in our shelter right now, it’s ridiculous. Please come down to meet all of our wonderful cats and kittens and hopefully you’ll fall in love! When the kittens in our care find new homes, we can take in more cats in need! Help us help them by considering adopting one or two and make everyone’s lives better!

Binx is a sweet young lady who came in last month and is now ready for her forever home! She is friendly but quiet, and would do well with any type of home. We are not sure how she would be with dogs.

Mocha, Godiva, and Mousse are all available and ready to find their new forever home! They would love to go together or with a friend of a similar age or to a home with a young and playful cat to keep them busy. They’re all super sweet, silly, very loving, and not to mention beautiful!

As a reminder, we have open hours only on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 4-7 and Saturdays 10-1 at this point. We are working on expanding the hours more but will let you know when this will be in practice. For now, come down to meet our wonderful cats (and staff) and hopefully find your purrfect match!

Happy Monday! We have lots of cats and kittens available for adoption this week. Madonna, Maxwell & Penny, and Bob & Margo went home, and the kittens that are now available would love to go home with a sibling or to a home with another young and playful cat!

Abbey, Prudence and King are siblings and are all super sweet and loving! None are particularly bonded to one another, but Prudence is the shyest of her family so she would do well with one of her brothers to help her settle in to her forever home. We thought Abbey was a girl at first but recently discovered Abbey is a boy, but I’m sure whoever adopts him will give him the right name. King is also a bit shy but they had great socialization with their foster home (my mom!) and will be ready to take on whatever new adventures life sends his way! Their sister Penny and brother Maxwell went home this weekend together, and we are so happy they found a great home! Such a beautiful litter of kittens, and their mom Madonna went home as well with one of our wonderful volunteers!

The Jetson kittens- Astro, Judy, Jetson, Cogswell, and Elroy are also available now, and would also do well being adopted with a sibling or going to a home with an active young cat to keep them out of trouble. Their foster home says they are sweet, playful, and cuddlebugs- great kittens all around!

We also have other kittens available at our shelter but I unfortunately don’t have pictures of them all; you’ll just have to come and see them! I will continue to share our open hours on these posts just to remind people of our new hours!

Happy Black Cat Appreciation Day! We have no shortage of black cats around the shelter, and also in my home and many of our foster homes! Please see the photos on this post for several of the black cats in our care now, and some that have found their forever homes through the CCC!

Happy Monday! Hope everyone is staying cool! This week we have lots of kitties available, and more are getting fixed this week. Madonna, Binx, Max, Ghost, and Ginger are now available, as well as some of Madonna’s kittens and others. Madonna has an application with one of our volunteers (yay!) Ice Cream, Mark, and Stewart are on deposit, and Jinzo went home last week.

Madonna is a quiet, laid-back lady who would do well in a variety of homes. We do not know how she is with dogs, but is great with older, respectful children and doesn’t seem to mind other cats.

Max and Ghost can be adopted together or separate, as they came in together but are not particularly bonded to one another. They are handsome older gentlemen who must not be adopted into a home with young children, as they are not comfortable with kids.

Meatball and Murphy are two sweet little kittens who were found as strays on the street and are in foster currently. Meatball is very shy with people but is getting better each day! Murphy is a friendly little cuddle bug who loves to be held and enjoys ear scratches! Murphy is teaching Meatball how to be a friendly guy.

We are in need of volunteers! We have some shifts that are regularly short-staffed, and with the crazy amount of kitties in our care, we need more help!. Duties include- cleaning cages, scooping litter boxes, feeding and watering, sweeping and mopping, and playing with/interacting with the kitties! Happy International Cat Day!!! I have included pictures of my own cats in addition to the adoptable cats we have at the CCC right now! Please share pictures and a short blurb about your own beloved cats, whether adopted from the CCC or not, and we may include them in our Forever Friday posts that I have been slacking on lately, sorry about that. 🫠

Also, we have so many more kitties available this week due to getting 27 cats fixed at clinics this week (phew!). Thank you to all who helped out with transportation of those cats, and also the fosters who got them to be as friendly and wonderful as they did! Cat rescue takes a village!
