One of our beloved horses, Garth, is back on his feet after surgery—but he’s not the only one who needs care. 🐴 Every horse in our program relies on ongoing medical attention to stay strong and continue their important work with our riders. Trigger, shown here, is one of the many beloved horses that serve as trusted partners at Heritage Christian Stables.

At Heritage Christian Stables, our horses aren’t just companions, they are trusted partners in therapy, empowerment and connection. Keeping them healthy requires routine veterinary care, medications and, at times, life-changing procedures.

Our miniature horses went on a field trip to the Monroe Branch of the Rochester Public Library recently to help our friends at the library with a special program. Aspen and Jasper introduced a lot of new friends to horses and got a lot of attention on the city streets!

Please join us in welcoming Christopher McConnell as our new vice president of education, employment and Finger Lakes day services!

In this role, Chris will oversee Eleversity, the Employment Alliance, day services across the Finger Lakes region and Expressive Beginnings Child Care. He’ll work closely with teams across the agency to strengthen collaboration, drive quality and support long-term growth, as well as strategically advance service models that foster independence, self-determination and opportunity.

Chris brings an exceptional depth of leadership experience across clinical, academic and operational settings with a clear passion for inclusive service and people-centered development. Most recently, he served as the hospital administrator at Monroe Community Hospital, leading multidisciplinary teams, launching a hospice unit and improving staff retention. Prior to that, he spent several years at the University of Rochester Medical Center, where he founded a nationally recognized multi-site mild traumatic brain injury rehabilitation program and directed a medical residency program known for its clinical rigor and 100% board certification rate.

We’re excited to have Chris’s leadership and talents, and we look forward to all that we’ll accomplish together.
