Fifty plus boxes of toys today. Most are out. Huge to small, something for every bird.
Some babies came in this week as well, sun conures, white fronted amazons, brown throated conure.

We've had a few questions about the cold and what to do if you lose your power.
For a normal healthy bird, temperature is not something I worry too much about. Baby birds and birds that are poorly feathered are a different story, they'll need to stay warmer. Most birds should be able to tolerate temperatures 45-95 degrees. If you feel that you need to warm the bird, you can use hot water bottles near the cage, cover the cage to keep drafts down, ( I don't believe a bird puts off enough heat to warm itself under a covered cage), some smaller birds may tolerate being held inside a coat or hoodie you're wearing. Even finches and canaries can usually handle low 50's.
DO NOT use a kerosene heater indoors for you or your animals.
Propane burns cleanly and I have used it in the past to warm myself indoors, and there are some propane heaters are made to use indoors but use at your own risk. Birds are more sensitive than most animals. For the ice storm 35 years ago, my aviary got down to below 40 and the birds were fine. Hopefully the storm won't be bad and no one will lose power, be safe.
