MAX the Giant Schnauzer from Midland and FORTY the Great Dane from Brock putting in work today.

Forty held his "Place" while Max worked completely off-leash right in front of him. Both dogs had every opportunity to break position, but neither did. They know the assignment, and they delivered.

Focus. Discipline. Reliability.

The crazy part? It's only been a little over 21 days since these two wild pups came through my gate.

Their transformation is complete.

Outstanding job, fellas. Your families are about to get back two completely different dogs.

FORTY, my Great Dane, has come such a long way! 🐾

Today we took a LOOONNGG off-leash walk through the neighborhood, and he never missed a beat. Focused, confident, and right by my side the entire time.

Outstanding work, buddy! So proud of how far you've come. 💙🐶

I’m the dog trainer…
and even I am ABSOLUTELY BLOWN AWAY!!! 🤯🔥

This is SUNNY, my recent Springer Doodle puppy WTDT graduate, working with one of the youngest members of her family—and she is absolutely CRUSHING this lesson!

Watching this young dog and a young handler connect at this level is something special. The focus, teamwork, confidence, and communication in this video are simply next level.

This family has put in the work, and it shows. Seeing Sunny respond so beautifully and this young handler succeed with her is exactly why I love what I do.

I could not be more proud of all of you. What an incredible team!

🎓🐾 Graduation Alert! 🐾🎓

Please join me in congratulating my newest graduate of the West Texas Dog Trainer Off-Leash Obedience Program — SUNNY the beautiful Springer Doodle from Aledo, Texas!

At just six months old, Sunny arrived as a complete whirlwind of energy—always on the move, testing boundaries, and determined to do things her way. She definitely made me work for every breakthrough, but that determination is also what made her so special.

After a little more than 21 days of training, Sunny is heading home as a confident, obedient, and engaged young dog. Her understanding of commands, willingness to learn, and overall confidence have grown tremendously. Watching her transformation has been an absolute pleasure.

Today, I had the opportunity to work with her incredible family, and I have no doubt that Sunny's success will continue. With their dedication to training and the many adventures ahead—whether at local baseball fields or traveling around the country—Sunny has a bright obedient future ahead of her.

Fantastic job, beautiful girl. I am truly going to miss your fun-loving spirit, your enthusiasm, and the joy you brought to every training session.

🚪🔔 DOORBELL TRAINING…

The Calm Before the Storm! ⛈️🐾

One of the benchmarks of dog training is teaching dogs to remain calm and confident in the face of distractions and stressful situations.

Today, my furry headed crew faced one of the biggest triggers for many dogs—the dreaded DOORBELL and KNOCKING at the door! 🚪👊🔔

The result? Not a single dog flinched, barked, lunged, or lost focus. Every one of them remained quiet, composed, and in control.

This is what real-world obedience looks like. Training isn't just about commands—it's about building confidence, self-control, and reliability when it matters most.

Dog Training 101... and these dogs absolutely nailed it! 👏🐕🐾

Dogs, distractions, noises, movement, excitement—and not one of them breaks position. They’re calm, focused, and completely relaxed.

“Place” is one of the most important commands I teach. It creates structure, builds impulse control, and gives owners a practical way to bring calm into everyday life. Whether it’s guests at the door, family gatherings, dinner time, or just relaxing at home, a solid Place command changes everything.

My clients consistently tell me it’s one of their favorite skills because it gives them confidence and control while helping their dogs learn how to settle and relax.

These dogs absolutely crushed it today. Nicely done, guys! 👊🐾

MAX the Giant Schnauzer put in another great training session this evening, working enthusiastically for his food and looking exceptionally sharp. His progress continues to impress, and he's steadily advancing. It won't be long before MAX is heading home to his family as a more confident, focused, and well-mannered companion.

🎓 Welcome My New Graduate! 🎓

In this season of graduations, I am excited to announce the newest graduate of the West Texas Dog Trainer Off-Leash Obedience Program — PENNY, the beautiful Golden Retriever from Midland, Texas!

When Penny first arrived, she was an energetic, out-of-control pup with a serious jumping habit and a desire to be as close to and on people as physically possible. While her affectionate nature is one of her wonderful qualities, it can quickly become overwhelming when not properly managed and channeled appropriately.

Fast forward 21 days, and Penny has undergone an incredible transformation. She developed into a wonderful training dog with excellent focus, enthusiasm, and a love for working in public. She performed exceptionally well throughout her training program and was a joy to work with.

I was equally impressed by Penny’s owners, who recognized that successful training requires commitment from both the dog and the handler. They did an outstanding job during their send-home session, embracing new skills and demonstrating a willingness to learn and grow alongside Penny. Learning something new is never easy, but the rewards are well worth the effort—and they absolutely rose to the challenge.

Congratulations to Penny and her family! I have no doubt this amazing dog will continue to thrive, and her dedicated owners will help ensure her success every step of the way.

Today, PENNY the Golden Retriever from Midland, Texas completed her final off-leash walk with me before heading home.

Watching her transformation throughout this training journey has been incredibly rewarding. Penny has developed into a focused, reliable, and confident companion, demonstrating the trust, obedience, and teamwork that every dog owner strives for.

I couldn't be more proud of this sweet girl and all she has accomplished. Safe travels home, Penny—you've earned it! ❤️🐾
