I used to feel so judged bringing dogs in training into places like Lowe’s or Home Depot. While I feel strongly that many dogs are exposed to high-distraction environments before they’re ready and truly prepped, days like this are proof that with the right training it can go so smoothly! This is exactly why we do this work.
These dogs walked in with a few nerves—but also the confidence and skills to work through it—and absolutely crushed their heeling and down-stays. Watching that growth, focus, and teamwork in real-world settings is what great training is all about.
