What a great summer so far! I have been enjoying a busy summer of pet care tending to all sorts of pets from dogs and cats to horses, goats and chickens!

I want to thank everyone so much for the show of support for my new business! I have been busy making lots of new friends and am excited to have more coming soon!

I am booked heavily for overnights through September but there are a few gaps, and I am able to help with drop in vacation cares as well. Would love to play with all your pets in the upcoming fall!

Quick logistical note - I enjoy doing overnight cares but due to my own farm I am unfortunately only available for them from April 15 - Nov 15. I continue to be able to do drop in vacations cares year round as well as regular midday visits of course.

Did you know that more pets go missing on the Fourth of July than any other day of the year?
While we may enjoy the fireworks, many pets find the loud noises and celebrations frightening. Taking a few precautions can help keep your furry family members safe and stress-free.

•Keep pets indoors before festivities begin. Make sure all doors, windows, and gates are securely closed and locked.

•Create a calm environment by turning on a TV, radio, or white noise machine to help mask the sounds of fireworks.

•Set up a safe space in the innermost room of your home, away from windows and exterior doors.

•Offer a special distraction such as a stuffed Kong®, lick mat, puzzle toy, or favorite chew to help keep your pet occupied.

•Consider calming aids such as a ThunderShirt®, pheromone products, or veterinarian-prescribed anxiety medication if your pet is known to be fearful of loud noises.

•Double-check that your pet is wearing a collar with current identification tags and that any microchip information is up to date.

•Never bring pets to fireworks displays, even if they seem calm. A sudden loud boom can cause even the most well-behaved pet to panic and run.

Let’s make this Independence Day safe and enjoyable for every member of the family, especially the four-legged ones!

If your pet struggles with noise anxiety, give us a call before the holiday so we can discuss options to help them stay comfortable.

They say donkeys are desert animals , my own little fella Pickles sure isn't offended by the heat lol

With the current heatwave it is so important to put extra effort in caring properly for all pets, horses included!
