Birthdays are always a very big deal here. Last year was the reminder there are never enough.
Baby Diva Girl Zorana Rose turned 6 today.

Never in a million years would I trade a second I had with Isis. I could do without the constant accidents, but she had chronic UTIs until she got a Jimmy Choo Hoo. So there’s that. She taught me to look at life from her perspective of uncertainty, anxiety, and life beyond her bubble was a lot for her to handle. She didn’t want new friends. She had Pogo. And dear God, I’d sell my soul to have him back. The lessons they taught me lead me to this moment.
Zorana was struggling and I needed a Go First dog for her. A dog that would lead the way, and be a buddy.
Well, we have him. And he’s amazing. She is eating her meals on the first try which she hasn’t done in 7 months. She’s even trying to bogart his food. She goes for rides without cowering in terror and is at the door saying “me too!”
Last night, she said Play With Me!
His name is Apollo and is completely a member of the family. He is the epitome of the meme I Halp. He’s a tender soul and I’ve listened to him when he needs patience and guidance. each week, with shaping and partnership, his leash skills improve, he sits to be let out and fed, and most importantly, he let me sleep until 8 this morning.

Today’s meet and greet went beautifully. I’m optimistic we will have a new family member in the near future.

After Pogo and Isis died in September, I’ve basically been hiding under a rock letting my broken heart heal because that was a level of suck I wasn’t prepared for.
Monday, I’m driving to the cape to meet a dog that will hopefully close the hole in my heart and bring me to the next phase.
I’m not sure… is this enough Kandy?
Someone is hoping for ALL the gravity.
