The sweetest Husky girl is still waiting for someone to give her the happily-ever-after she deserves. 💙

Tajin was most likely dumped and was picked up as a stray. Sadly, no one ever came looking for her. 💔 While we may not know much about her past, one thing we do know is that Tajin has the sweetest soul and a bright future ahead of her! ✨

At about 1–2 years old, Tajin is everything you’d expect from a Husky — sweet, energetic, playful, and ready for adventure! 🐺 She loves being active, getting outside, and spending time with people. She’s the kind of girl who would love an active family that can keep up with her and include her in all their adventures. 🏃‍♀️🌲

Tajin is spayed, up to date on her vaccines, and ready to start her next chapter. 📖❤️

We don’t know where Tajin came from or what she’s been through, but we know where we want her to go…

Valerie is 3 years old, spayed, and has so much love to give. She absolutely adores people and seems to make friends with everyone she meets. Give her some pets and she is one happy girl!

Position Overview: We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team at the Wayne Township Animal Shelter. As a Kennel Attendant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being and comfort of our shelter animals. This position requires individuals who are committed to creating a safe and nurturing environment for all animals under our care.
Position Details:
Hours: Weekdays and Weekends, two shifts available:
Morning Shift: 8:00am - 12:00pm
Evening Shift: 4:00pm - 8:00pm
Location: Wayne Township Animal Shelter, 201 Pompton Plains Crossroads, Wayne, NJ
How to Apply: For more info call 973-694-0767 and leave a message with your name and number and someone will get back to you, or visit during adoption hours to pick up/fill out an application. Applications are also available on the township website.

Shelter Duties:
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of cat rooms, dog kennels, and outdoor runs.
Clean and sanitize cat litter pans, replenish litter as needed.
Ensure animals have clean water and food, replenishing as necessary.
Replace bedding and provide comfortable living conditions for animals.
Perform daily housekeeping tasks such as laundry, dishes, mopping, and sweeping.
Walk, exercise, and socialize dogs to promote physical and mental well-being.
Socialize cats to enhance adoptability.
Administer medication to animals.
Requirements:
Passion for animal welfare and a commitment to their care and well-being.
Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
Physical capability to stand, walk, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds.
Attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards.
Effective communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
Must be 18 years old to apply.

“Keeping Up With The Kittens” 🐱 😂

Behind the scenes, our shelter staff are doing their best to keep up with tiny paws, endless purrs, and an absolutely adorable kitten takeover. 🐾

But jokes aside… kitten season is STILL in full swing, and we have so many kittens waiting for their forever families. From tiny fluffballs to big personalities in little bodies, there are so many cute faces hoping someone walks through the door and chooses them. 🤍

The truth is, these kittens shouldn’t have to grow up in a shelter. Spaying and neutering is one of the most important things we can do to help prevent the cycle of overpopulation and make sure every animal has a chance at a safe, loving home.

Meet Mimi ❤️

Some stories are harder to tell than others.

When Animal Control came for Mimi, she didn’t run away from the house—she ran back to it. She thought she was going home. She had no idea the family she loved had already decided to leave her behind.

Our hearts broke for her.

The good news is that Mimi hasn’t stopped loving people. She’s a sweet, gentle girl who loves affection and just wants someone to call her own. Every day she reminds us how resilient dogs can be.

Now we’re hoping someone will give Mimi the ending she deserves—a real forever home with people who will love her for the rest of her life.
