Cria #2 is here…and it’s another boy! 💙

He is much lighter than our other Tritan crias, a much closer copy of his dam and sire. Josh called that it was going to be a light baby born on Sunday. We’re thinking of calling him Sunny! ☀️

Oh, and he outweighed his half-brother (still unnamed) at 20.6 lbs! 😳 Welcome to the world, big guy.

So, we may have made a slight mistake...

Cria #1 is actually a boy! While not what we originally thought, we are beyond blessed to have a solid-boned, healthy boy with some interesting coloration. He's showing signs of gray, which Tritan has proven to pass down. I won't call him that yet and time tells with alpaca fleece color anyway. One thing I do know...he's cute as a button!

Pandora has been a rockstar for us and she has struck yet again. She was named P PANDORA'S BOX to illustrate the wonderful possibilities she can produce, and she has absolutely lived up to her name. Her offspring have had a spectrum of color ranging fawn to dark, with spectacular fine fleeces in her offspring.

That being said...we're also looking for name ideas starting with 'P,' comment below!

Wondering when our cria update was coming? Well, here it is!

P PANDORA’S BOX x HFAR & KVR’s Peruvian Tritan

Pandora delivered a spunky 17.8 lb **boy around 10:00 AM this morning (08/16/2026). We’re not sure of his color completely but we’re going to call him dark brown for now. Pandora had a textbook delivery, and this little guy has been energetic and already so curious about the world.

As we prepare for our new crias (no signs yet), I wanted to reintroduce a sweet mother-daughter duo that we are currently selling at Alpacalyptic Farms to make room in our small breeding program. Package deal for the month of August!

Gypsy - Medium Fawn Female (DOB: 8/31/2016)

Gypsy is a lovely girl that we have had on the farm since her birth. She has always been a gentle soul that would happily greet folks at alpaca yoga events. Despite her daughter being almost 2 years old, she maintains a close relationship with her. I think she is very similar as a mother compared to her own dam, who even when she didn't have her own cria, would happily step in as a nurse mom. She is a versatile female with several good years to give and she would be great for a youth showman looking to get into alpacas!

Lady Zingara - Dark Brown Female (DOB: 9/22/2024)

Lady Z is an inquisitive and curious young girl that will be ready to breed herself soon. I also think she would make a companion with her mother. She would be a great project for someone getting into alpacas, as she's been to shows but could use extra handling. She has very solid confirmation, full coverage of fleece, and a solid staple length for fiber processing.

Local 4H/FFA Students!!
For youth looking to get into alpaca projects-whether you're interested in having a few for pets, utilizing their fiber, or starting your own breeding farm-these two registered and healthy girls are a fantastic starter package! I am happy to mentor for free.

Last day to guess for our cria countdown! Don't miss out on the chance to see these sweet creatures and their babies. Pandora is due August 9th, and C.C. is due August 13th!

Due August 13th, Cosmic Ceres, aka "C.C." is another soon-to-be-mom to celebrate.

Born in 2016, she is another long-term resident of the farm that we have watched grow into a foundational female in our herd. Her dam, Leathal Weapon's Calla, is our bay black female that produced numerous crias for us and resides as our herd matriarch. Her sire, like Pandora, is MFI Peruvian CandyMan.

Her first cria is Celestia's Aura out of Tritan. We are awaiting her second Tritan cria very soon!

As we inch closer to their due dates, we wanted to highlight the special moms we have at Alpacalyptic Farms. First up:

P Pandora's Box. Pandora was our very first cria in 2015, and has been the foundation of what we aim toward as a breeding program. In the only show of her career, she placed 1st in a class of 6 in 2017 at the Illinois RailSplitter Show as a Fawn Yearling.

Her sire, MFI Peruvian CandyMan, was well known for fineness and uniformity, which holds true through Pandora and her offspring. Her maternal line through KVR's Peruvian Pippa traces back to Magical Farms breeding, and provides additional strengths in uniformity and production.

Pandora is the mother of two of our top performing show alpacas, Phinneus and Duchess, who both have banners in Walking Fleece. Both are offspring of LibertyAlpacas E Pluribus Unum, and maintain a great blend of their dam and sire of fineness and uniformity.

We cannot wait to see her new cria, due August 9th!

It’s time for our cria countdown! 🦙

We are inviting followers to take guesses on what our two crias (alpaca babies) are going to look like this year! We have two females pregnant and due soon. We need answers to the following questions:

- Which cria will be born first? (Pandora’s or CC’s)
- When will the first cria be born? (Date)
- 1 boy 1 girl, 2 boys, or 2 girls?
- What color will Pandora’s baby be?
- What color will CC’s baby be?

The closest guess will have a chance to come visit us for a private experience to meet our crias after they are born! Our winner will also receive a free pack of hand-crafted, 100% alpaca dryer balls. Enter by July 30th for prize consideration.

Read this to inform your guess!

Pandora and Cosmic Ceres-aka “CC”-are both expecting HFAR & KVR Peruvian Tritan crias in about a month. Pandora was bred on 9-1-25. CC was bred on 9-5-25. With an average gestation window of about 335-355 days, that puts Pandora’s due date at August 9th, with a rough window between August 2nd and August 22nd. CC, then, is due August 13th, with a window from the 6th to the 26th.

HFAR & KVR’s Peruvian Tritan has produced a range of colors, primarily dark. He is a medium fawn male, and his crias are the following colors: medium and dark brown, bay and true black, and dark rose gray.

Pandora has had a medium fawn and dark brown cria, 1 male 1 female.

CC has produced white and black, both females. Her other Tritan cria is black.

Happy guessing! We are so looking forward to our little ones this year.
