Sarah's Treasures Rescue is incorporated in the state of South Dakota. We have no paid staff or workers and 100% foster home and volunteer operated. All donations go directly to the pets. es NOT have a shelter building. Most of our pets are in foster homes. Our foster families provide valuable insight into each pets' personality, temperament, and unique features which help place him/her in the best home possible. Our mission is to provide all animals a loving, forever home. We work with owners and pets alike to make the world a better place for both. We are working hard to establish a veterinary fund to provide every animal with essential vet care including spay/neuter to lower the unwanted pet population. Our goals are to unite humans and animals for lifelong companionship; to provide information to those in need; and to educate all in the responsiblity of a lifelong pet.

Foster or Forever Home Needed ASAP

Lemony Snickets is a 6 1/2 year old - neutered and has previously lived with another dog as well as done well with dogs in his temporary safe spot. Although temporary safe, he needs a spot to flourish, whether a foster home with more time or his forever home! He has previously lived and done well with older kids, but his whole world has been turned upside down so slow and easy is advised as he learns everything will be okay again.

If you choose to foster, we will provide any vet care and supplies as needed in the Watertown, SD area (2 hour or less radius). Please fill out the foster application on the website if interested!

If interested in adopting, please apply with our application - we will connect you to his temporary care givers.

The tinsel's packed, the carols fade,
But joy remains, a gentle shade.
The pups still dream in cozy beds,
Of loving hands and happy treads.

Christmas past, a shining light,
Now hope remains, burning bright.
If hearts are open, rooms feel bare,
A furry friend is waiting there.

A wagging tail, a soulful eye,

A big red bowl, a yummy treat,
The night before, oh so sweet!
Little crumbs, a sugary gleam,
Ate the cookies, felt like a dream.
(Maybe naughty, a tiny bit,
But those cookies? I don't regret it!)

New smells come, a happy sound,
Friends and family from all around.
Lots of pets and gentle hands,
And happy faces, do you understand?

Bright, wrapped boxes, ribbons tied,
My tail is wagging, heart full deep inside!
A squeaky toy, a fluffy bed,
So much love inside my head.

Someday soon, I hope it's true,

Hamilton the collie, bright,
With eyes so full of happy light,
Spied cookies on a plate so grand,
Santa's treats, throughout the land.

He gobbled them with joyful glee,
A happy, wiggly, bouncy spree.
Then looked around, a little shame,
But mostly joy, it's all the same.

Just slight regret, a tiny bit,
His tummy full, he can't quite sit!

Pepper, small and shy and sweet,
With paws that tiptoe, tiny feet.
Trust was hard, a scary thing,

Then, a smell, so warm and bright,
Cookies round, in Christmas light.
Santa's treat, a sugary gleam,
Just for her? A hopeful dream.

One small bite, then two, then three,
Sweetest joy, for Pepper-lee!
Gone so fast, each crumb devoured,
A happy secret, love empowered.

Too late she knew, the plate was bare,

Marshmallow, golden with a glow,
A puppy, quiet, soft, and slow.
He saw a plate, a tempting treat,
Cookies for Santa, oh so sweet!

He sniffed and nibbled, one, then two,
Then realized what he did was wrong, it's true!
His tail tucked low, his eyes so sad,
"Oh dear," thought Marshmallow, feeling bad.

"Will Santa still bring gifts to me?
Or am I naughty, you can see!"
He hoped with all his tiny heart,
He's still on Santa's "nice" list, right from the start.
