We have been asked if the severe storms over the last couple of weeks have caused any damage for us. We thought everything was well, but late last Friday evening we noticed a large crack opening in our old pecan tree. Unfortunately we decided that the damage was severe enough and the tree large enough that, to be safe, it had to be taken down. The old pecan was planted by Greg's dad over 60 years ago and had become a major part of the landscape on the farm, stretching up 80 feet with a spread of nearly 100. We keep looking up at the gap and can scarcely believe how much more sky we can see now. It is sad, but in years to come new life will grow; the earth and sun will bring forth more beautiful green as they do here every week. Come get your own little piece of that green with some fresh veggies this week:
Friday, August 15th, on farm market 3-6 p.m.
Saturday, August 16th, at the Cedar Falls Farmers Market 8:30 a.m.-noon
Saturday, August 16th, U-Pick 4-6:30 p.m.
Wednesday, August 20th, U-Pick 4-6:30 p.m.
