The Animal Services Center provides services to the citizens and pets of Watauga. The center is open to lost, stray and unwanted animals in the city.

Animal Services provides humane care, shelter and adoption services. GOALS & MISSION:
Animal Services is a division of the Watauga Police Department. Our goal is to protect the health and safety of both humans and animals in the community. Animal Services promotes the humane treatment of animals and encourages responsible pet ownership. Animal Services aims to provide both professional and reliable services for the citizens and animals of Watauga.

UPDATE: All the boys have been adopted!!

🌭🐾 DACHSHUNDS ON DACHSHUNDS! 🐾🌭

That’s right — 7 Dachshund mixes just arrived at Watauga Animal Services, and they’re looking for their new homes! ❤️

We have 7 little personalities ready to find their people, ranging from 8 months to 2 years old. We have 4 females and 3 males available for adoption!

🏡 Adoption Details:
🐾 $80 adoption fee
🐾 First come, first served
🐾 First round of DHLPP vaccine
🐾 Bordetella vaccine
🐾 Spay/neuter voucher through TCAP
🐾 Microchip
🐾 Heartworm test

We are currently working on scheduling their sterilization appointments through TCAP so they can be spayed/neutered as soon as possible!

This sweet female Pitty was found this afternoon near Taco Casa on Watauga Road. She was found without a collar or microchip, and we’re hoping to help her find her way back home! 🐾❤️

Two handsome boys, one forever home to find! 🧡 Meet Bowie & Rango, a bonded pair of 4-year-old male Chow mixes who have been waiting THREE MONTHS for someone to give them the second chance they deserve.

These boys are the total package, and we can't believe they're still waiting! 🥹

🖤🩶 Bowie is the black and gray handsome gentleman! He's a little more reserved at first, but he opens up quickly and just wants all the love you have to give.

🤎 Rango is the tan social butterfly! He's outgoing, loves attention, and will happily accept all the belly rubs you're willing to give!

And the best part? These boys are amazing companions!

🐾 Obedient and good on leash
🐾 Dog-friendly with no food aggression
🐾 Neutered and fully vaccinated
🐾 Loving, affectionate, and ready to be someone's whole world!

Their previous family didn't want to give them up, but after moving, unexpected landlord issues left them without a choice. Now, these two best friends are looking for a new family to love them both forever. They are a BONDED PAIR and MUST be adopted together. They do everything together, and we wouldn't dream of separating them! 🐶🐶

❤️ A note about Rango: He is heartworm positive and has not started treatment yet. We are working to raise funds for his treatment, so please don't let that discourage you from meeting these amazing boys! Rango deserves a healthy, happy future just as much as any other pup.

This sweet girl was found around yesterday around 5pm off Park Vista and Watauga Rd in Watauga, TX. 💗🐾

She does not have a microchip, she does have a teal floral collar but no identification tag and we would love to help her find her way back home!

She is currently safe and being cared for at Watauga Animal Services. ❤️
