Cool case of the month:

Brutus, a 10 year old Boston terrier, initially presented to Watauga Animal Hospital for his annual exam and vaccinations. On physical exam we discovered his abdomen to be severely distended. His owners allowed us to take some radiographs which showed a severely dilated stomach that was filled with foreign material. He had no known symptoms and was still eating/drinking normally. Surgery was scheduled for the following day. 2 lbs worth of hair ties (74 to be exact), some human hair, carrots, corn, tin foil, and a plastic wrapper were removed from his stomach. We assume he has accumulated these hair ties in his stomach over the course of years.
